Title: Pokemon D/P
Description: Gotta catch 'em all...all 493.
Katrak - May 18, 2007 02:07 AM (GMT)
Surely I'm not the only one on AT wasted hours of their life on the new Pokemon games.
Right?
....RIGHT?!
Like seriously, if you've got a DS, you gotta go buy it. Wi-Fi Trading and Wi-Fi Battling is fun. And the microphone usage...mwahaha. :D
The Razgriz Ace - May 18, 2007 05:16 AM (GMT)
I dont have a DS...lol...

aj - May 20, 2007 06:28 PM (GMT)
Fail. I don't have a DS as well. XD
I saw the 3 starting pokemons and compared them to the old ones...
Fire Monkey, Plant Turtle and a Water Pingu. (Cartoon Network. lol.)
I was like... Hmm... Running out of ideas...
I saw their names...
Chimchar... Turtwig...
Why did they let their babies name the new pokemons? =/
I looked at the two legendary pokemons, time and space... Ok, what's next?
Then I saw a gym leader in pink butterfly costume... Fit... Spandex I guess... He... Yes... A he... Pink butterfly costume and a he... In a weird ghey pose... And a buldge... It was lunch time... And I lost my apetite... Either they're telling kids that it's ok to be ghey or they want kids to beat the crap out of that gym leader.
Sad... This is so sad.
But then again, I don't own a DS so I really don't know.
And yeah, the system haven't changed at all. I was expecting something like Phantom Hourglass.
But the Wi-Fi features ownz. XD And yeah, I still want a Mew. XD lol.
Katrak - May 20, 2007 09:50 PM (GMT)
Yeah, I'm pretty much addicted to Wi-Fi more than to the actual game...I'm 64 hours in, and still only at 5 badges. Hahaha.
I ditched all the new generation pokemon for 1st Gens. :D

Oh yeeeeeah~

I'm mainly posting here just to have a recent post that's NOT in Community or Spam. But, yeah, Pokemon rules. Check out the Normal-type dream team I'm setting up!
Snorlax (aka, coolest Pokemon ever)
Exploud
Togekiss
Porygon-Z
Lickylicky
Shedinja (just to throw people)
aj - August 4, 2007 08:47 AM (GMT)
1.] Blastoise ownz. (Come on, Gamera with a double water cannon? Still my fave starting pokemon of all gens. XD)
2.] Charrizard is still the coolest dragon pokemon, though he's not really a dragon. XD lol.
3.] Pidgeotto and Sandslash = cool. XD Some of the best designs I've seen actually. XD
4.] Ghost pokemons are just too powerful back then in the old days. I'm just not sure in the other gens. XD But if my memory serves me correctly, they're not affected by normal attacks unless you have some sort of sight or something and Psychic types are their only weakness. (1st gen psychs, Alakazaam and Mewtwo are the only ones who are usually in the line-up. Alakazaam is fine and everybody have a Mewtwo. XD)
But that's just me and my old school memories of Red, Blue and Yellow. Yellow being my all time fave. XD
Uhmm... Is there a way to get Groudon with-out trading or something in the game? Peter just gave me a DS emu(Thanks a lot again Peter. XD) and my brother dled a rom of d. (The one with the monster in all four legs or something. XD)
I just got a DVD of Goji vs. Mothra vs. King Ghidora : daikaiju all-out attack and I feel like playing games with monsters and stuffs. XD
And what's the difference between a porygon and a porygon-z? I kinda got one back then in the game with kyogre(forgot.) but I never really bothered with it. The problem with a team of 1 element besides the fact that you look like a gym leader is the weakness and versatility but it's nonetheless cool and fun. ^^
Just trying to post something aswell. XD
JJ48 - August 4, 2007 11:32 PM (GMT)
No, there is no way to get Groudon in the game without trading. Sorry. As for Porygon-Z, basically, Porygon-Z is the second evolution of Porygon (the first being Porygon2 in Gold/Silver). It only learns one move that Porygon doesn't (as far as I can remember), but its stats are MUCH more impressive. I just likes me the normal types. ^_^
By the way, Shedinja is actually a Bug/Ghost type. I couldn't think of another normal type I really liked, so I put it in. It only has one hitpoint, but it can't be hit by attacks unless they're super-effective. XD
aj - August 5, 2007 11:50 AM (GMT)
Oh, higher stats. Well I guess it's what evolution is for.
Ditto is normal right? lol. XD
Shedinja is the old body of nincada right? Or was it the otherway around? I didn't know that. I guess it could be a tide turner or something other people should watch out for since if they don't have the right attacks it's basically a one sided game. It's actually a nice idea for a pokemon, it's not just the usual high hp hard hitting evolved ones like I usually see.

There's a DS emulator now? Since when? xD
My party is still the above pictured.I haven't touched it in several days though. My DS battery is dead and I keep forgetting to charge it. But I am proud to say that when I use my team (usually excluding Pidgeot) on Pokemon Battle Revolution(Wii~) via WIFI...I have only lost to people twice :D And it was because they used a team of all the legendaries possible on WIFI >_> I hate people that do that. It's really not fair, imo. But whatever. xD
The Razgriz Ace - August 6, 2007 02:09 AM (GMT)
There's actually like 6 emulators out, but only 2 (at the last time I checked which was a few months ago) could play commercial games...the one I gave aj seems to work well, as the other one I tried didnt work on my comp...so far I have played Pokemon DS (for like 2 seconds), Advance Wars DS, and the Phoenix Wright games...you really need a decent comp for it to work really well, but its not a major problem unless you're playing a really fast paced game...if you're just playing say Phoenix Wright then it doesnt matter...
However, when I was playing the other games I would have a party consisting of the following (This party stayed up until Diamond):
-Raichu
-Venusaur (Or Charizard, whichever I felt like at the time...)
-Alakazam
-Dragonite
-Snorlax
-Mewtwo (Or if you think thats cheating like some people then probably Gyarados...)
However, one time when I was playing Red I would use that cheat where you could trade but take the link cable out at the right time so each person got a copy of the pokemon, which meant I ended up getting 6 super-power mewtwos, or even one time I had 4 level 105 Snorlax's...XD

Peter's a cloner! xD
People do that on WIFI. And there's a lot of hacked and cloned pokemon on the GTC x_x; Like they ask for Level 5 Charizards (which is obviously impossible) in exchange for their Level 100 Mew, or what have you. Amazing how people learned to clone via WIFI already. I'm not gonna do it though. Not worth risking my game for. I've got over 100 hours!

| so far I have played Pokemon DS (for like 2 seconds) |
LOL
ftw quote. XD
Cloning's still possible? That sux. Kinda ruins the whole game and the idea of working so hard just to get high level legendary pokemons.
Mine was:
Nidoking
Blastoise
Charizard
Gengar
Pikachu (YES! XD lol.)
Mewtwo
Sometimes I include Onix or Sandslash just for dig and stuffs. I was a fan of 1 hit KOs back then like Fissure and stuffs. XD
Mew can now be obtained? O_o" How?
I remember back then, when people use cloning and stuffs we have this cartidge full of 1337 pokemons. Me and my brother traded and raised through multiple games like finishing the game, trading your pokemons then restarting the game. They were actually a bit better than those missing numbers and raised with rare candies and stuffs. Added the fact that no one bothered with ghost types back then so they were kinda surprised. XD
Turtwig looks nice in his last stage evolution. ^^
Peter: The slowdowns are actually nice, we were playing Megaman ZX and we can dodge everything. lol. Matrix slow motion style. lol. We can beat the game with full hp sometimes. XD
Yeah, I kinda like Chocobo tales but that's off topic. XD
KT!!! - August 6, 2007 09:32 AM (GMT)
Can I have an emulator? ; ;
aj - August 7, 2007 07:42 AM (GMT)
No.
lol.
Kidding, ask Peter. ;)
lawlz.
XD

I have a DS and tonnes of games cause I got a rom-reader cartridge for the DS, but i will never get those pokemon games...eeeeever. Crystal, Gold and Silver was where I drew the line.
KT!!! - October 9, 2007 10:35 PM (GMT)
Boo~
Wifi battles make it so much better. I enjoy kicking people's Gold/Silver/Ruby/Sapphire/Diamond/Pearl only pokemon with my Red/Blue/Green only party. It's such great fun. Old school ftw~
aj - October 9, 2007 11:55 PM (GMT)
KAMEX!~
XD
I remember getting a Blastoise toy and it's name was still the Japanese/whatever version one. I think I also have Lizardon/Charrizard. lawlz. XD
The toy was cool, shoots random plastic ball or something from the cannons(though it could have been cooler if it's water instead. HYDRO CANNON! lawlz. XD) but I find it funny every time I look at it and try to imagine how it would sound like saying "KAMEX" all the time. lawlz. XD
KT!!! - October 10, 2007 12:40 AM (GMT)
Charizard is so much cooler of a name than Lizardon x_x
Pokemon is probably one of the only things where I'll say that the dubbed English names are better xD
Kie - October 10, 2007 09:41 AM (GMT)
Cartoon voices were good too.
KT!!! - October 10, 2007 09:43 AM (GMT)
Yeah. I agree :) When you go back and listen to the first few episodes though, they sound really funny and different from what they sound like now. But of course, that's because they hadn't gotten used to the character yet.
