Description: Out in Japan!

And it's about time, too!

Sooo...who's gonna download import and try to decipher it( hint hint*coughbencough* )? I'm tempted, but I'm holding back for now. xD

I'm just kinda waiting for the reviews to role in. After playing the demo, I'm rather intrigued as to how the whole game will pan out, gameplay wise. And finally, we get to see what the storyline is all about. Takes place in Ivalice...and Final Fantasy Tactics took place in Ivalice, and that game is probably my second favorite FF game, if not second favorite game ever...so I'm seriously curious. o____o

Anywho, thoughts people! It's been YEARS since an FF game in the numerical series has been released (other than FFXI expansions xD)

I've only seen a trailer for this game. But I have some high expectations for this. I just hope they don't go and balls it all up like FFX-2 and all. Since X, Final Fantasy just seemed to be going downhill, but hopefully XII will change all that.

Has anyone noticed that the characters seem to be kinda similar to those of previous games, particularly 10?

What Im intrigued about mostly is the whole Chrono Trigger style battle idea...where they get rid of the random battles...I personally didnt mind random battles...but I also liked this idea...so yeah...

Im not sure...I'll wait and see what the final product is like before making any opinions about it...

Vaan looks a lot like a younger Tidus. xD

And, I heard the battle system is supposed to be more "strategy based". I hope they use the same system as they did for Bahamut Lagoon.

I played the demo... Bahamut Lagoon Battle system it is not...

Im waiting for the US release... im not even going to look stuff up for it... well... maybe ratings... but thats it..

Vaan looks a lot like a younger Tidus. xD

Not to mention he runs just as funky as Tidus did. xD

The demo gave two different ways of battling. One was where you could bring the menu up (Attack, Magic, Items, Summon, etc) and you could still move around the map while doing so. Whereas the other way was that when you brought up the menu, everything paused.

I personally liked running at an enemy whilst casting magic. That's cool XD

Oh oh, and you can still flee via L2 and R2 (or was it L1 R1? ._.)

And for character designs, FFXII.net has an interview up that says most of the characters are supposed to have a european look to them. Like Ashe was modeled to look french or something o_O

Q: The characters wear skimpy outfits--whose idea was this?

Yoshida: That would be me. [Laughs] This country named Dalmasca is supposed to have a hot climate, so we were thinking of showing off more skin.

:lmao: The clothes disappear as the number of the game gets higher!

Thanks katie ; ; You somehow knew I'd download this.

Graphics = OMFG

That's all I'll say for now.

*goes back to playing*

Bill Gates - March 16, 2006 04:57 AM (GMT)
omfg, you got it that fast? @_@ I'm so downloading it next then xD

Daniel Radcliffe - March 16, 2006 06:15 AM (GMT)
Looking at FFXII.net, I think I'll like this battle system. xD Seems very much like Star Ocean: Till The End of Time.

And the rest of the game looks really cool, too. The Moogles look ao adorable! xD

Bill Gates - March 18, 2006 10:29 AM (GMT)
I've prolly got another 30 or so hours of downloading left x_x It was going at 80kb/s earlier, but then it's been going back in forth between 15-30kb/s for the past couple hours. Blargh. I need a new compy.

Famitsu magazine in Japan gave FFXII a 10/10, and supposedly they rarely hand out perfect scores o_o; The anticipation heightens.

Stop tempting me KT!!! lol... If i can keep it all a secret from myself... it will be all he more sweeter...

Katie already knows but,

I, am not, a fan of the battle system. I think it sucks majorily. I guess it might be that I'm just so used to standing back, picking my options and shtuff like that.

But this seems jsut too different having your character running around and fighting at will.

I'm so used to the normal battle system that they've used from FFI - X-2.

To me, it ruins part of the final fantasy experiance. But that's just my opinion on it. I'll still play it for the story, but battle system, bah!

Bill Gates - March 21, 2006 12:59 AM (GMT)
I like it so far. Battling is kinda difficult. I just got Penelo in my party x_x It's annoying when you have Gambit turned on, and she just runs after things by herself, or she just doesn't do anything at all for a little while. So I'm doing it all manually by turning Gambit off xD

I died after I got swarmed by this wolf-lookin' monsters on the Giza Plains (omgwtfbbq fftactics map!!!!11one). Partly because I went and turned the menu option off of the wait mode...I'll probably change it back now xD

I know when I played the demo game it was cool playing with ability to switch through the players and cast magics. But what i want to is does it have summons or aons or what? The demo doesnt really answer that so....yeah

Bill Gates - March 22, 2006 09:08 PM (GMT)
I haven't gotten any summons yet, but I guess they call them Espers in this one, just like in FFVI. And there's some mention of Magicite, so I have a feeling it'll be somewhat like FFVI, but once again, I don't know for sure yet.

One thing I DO know for sure though, is that some of the Airships in the game are named after classic summons, like Ifrit, Shiva, Bahamut, etc.
