Title: The DOA movie...
Description: believe it...

Slated for relese in theaters September 2006 (in the US), they have in fact made a Dead or Alive movie. To me, it looks like a boobfest from all the bikini- and bra-slinging in the trailer, but you can judge for yourself.

I think the saddest part of this is I still want to go see it o.o

...well, actually the saddest part is I was totally supposed to play Kasumi...damn you Dimension Films...

Charlies Angels but with more boobs.... looks a lil dumb to me but who knows...

Once again.. hollywood is about to screw ova another game - movie conversion...

i no doubt will see it....(not doin so would make me a moron)

but i will be sceptical.....specially since the trailer showed the girls all have a similar fighting style, (which is stupid since they r all supposed to be different).

ahh well, least the chics r hot

O...k...

Yet another example of a game that is going to be totally screwed up on the movie transition...The reasons why:

-It looks very much like a run of the mill pointless action movie...
-The fight scenes look pretty bad, especially the wire fighting scenes...any wire fighting scenes that look obviously like wire fighting scenes just look bad imo...
-Whoever cast this thing needs to be shot...because Kazumi just looks dodgy...and the only chick that looks half decent is the british woman who I recognise but cant remember the name of...either way, casting=crap...in fact, it Im sure the movie would be alot more appealing if Ally was playing Kazumi...
-From what I see...its just them working together to take out people...which is stupid...fighting games are good because you have 30 odd characters who can vs each other...not work in teams (unless you have tag team capability...) so the story is obviously nothing anywhere near the game...
-Finally, they seem to be using gimmicky humour to liven things up...meh...

All in all...not even worth watching on dvd in my opinion...

*Total response to Peter's post*
I would like to take the time to point out that any DOA movie version would be forced to be a pointless action movie......for an action movie to have a point, it needs to have a plot....and DOA the game didn't have any serious plot to speak of, so...

I will admit that wire scenes can be tacky unless done really awesomely like the Matrix...but if they were to do it like the Matrix it'd be a spoof or other kind of throwback and would cease to be awesome. What I think the true failing would be is if they don't pick up the slack in the hand-to-hand choreography...

<.<....*HUGS!*

And for all the rest, a big "tru dat, Peter". Yes, DOA has no plot, but you should at least stick to what little they do have. And humor is all fine and good, but making it stereotypical isn't that appealing.

They killed DOA. >.< But I'm not surprised it's a boob-infested action movie, really I'm not. Still going to see it though. :b

And yes Ally, you were defintely supposed to play Kasumi.

Sean Connery - November 26, 2005 10:35 PM (GMT)
Well, again, to be fair there wasn't much to kill off. DOA was Tecmo's way of selling sex (Exhibit A: Dead or Alive Extreme Beach Vollyball, Exhibit B: Cheat for DoA 2 allowing player to view a secret movie where Kasumi's clone is nude, Exhibit C: Christie's ending movie in DOA 3 where she is depicted showering nude, etc. etc.)
But it was a pretty good fighting game in spite of the cheap panty shots and boob-jiggling, so I do agree they could've done a lot better with it.

And might I repeat I love how people keep agreeing with me about my stolen role XDD

Looks crap, looks pointless, and the girls aren't really that hot at all -_-

Couldn't pay me to see this one.

It looks like a video of bad Cosplayers.....

None of them really look the parts.... I havent played too much DOA but i can tell that the characters dont really act like they do in the games....

Damn you Constantin Films.... Your reponsable for the RE Movies.... Who would give them another movie rights to a game.....

Ya know, they'll prolly get their hands on the rights to the GTA movies or something now...XD...or the Halo movie, or even the (god forbid) Metal Gear Solid Movie...-_-

So yeah...From the looks of it they've even managed to add in some volleyball too...which is weird cause the volleyball game was pretty lame...but I guess sex does sell...cept I aint buyin it in this case...

At least Peter Jackson is directing the Halo movie, so it should hopefully be good....

But come on!!!!!!!..... freakin Constantin Films!!!!!!??????

I saw the DOA trailer and almost cried...in pain. It has nothing to do with the game and makes 0 sense. They even put more clothes on em!!! like WTF (hmm maybe I shouldn't say that out loud =/ )

If you had bothered to look, there is a thread on this already lower down the page...please remember to look out for this when posting topics...thank you...*moved*
