Attention, this thread will contain spoilers. Those that haven't seen the movie it's not advised to read on past this first post. Thank you.

"At the dawn of the Millenium, the nation collapsed. At 15% unemployment, 10 million were out of work, 800,000 students boycotted school. The adults lost confidence, and fearing the youth, eventually passed the 'Millenium Educational Reform Act'...AKA: The BR Act." - opening graphics introduction to Battle Royale |
I finally obtained a copy of this movie, along side with a suplementary DVD and the second installment of Battle Royale. It all came in one DVD box set "Special Version". Now I had been told a year ago when I heard about the movie and wanted to see it that it was out of print and very hard to obtained. I scoured everywhere, Hastings was the one place I was for sure that would have it. No dice, a year goes by and then I finally find it... at Hot Topic... wtf?
Regardless of where my find was, it was a great find. This movie is indeed the greatest out there. And I recomend everyone scour for a copy.
*Waves DVD in front of katie and sticks his tounge out at her*

ahh such an awsome movie indeed,
the 1st was far greater than the 2nd,
and who could forget the classic "fan" weapon

Not very hard to obtain here. JB have heaps of both movies in stock. I got the first one, lent it to everyone and it seems to be quite popular here now for good reason. The second has a bit more of a storyline to it (Like Kill Bill) but Kiriyama is the best.

I just finished watching the second movie. It too was great, a lot more different then the first but it's understandable. I must say though, with the looks of the outcome of the Battle Royale before Nanahara's battle it probably would have made a damned good movie as well. I personally would like to see how Mai managed.
Kiriyama? Indeed the best

Shame the explosion partially blinded him. I'm sure had that not happened and he'd seen Kawada he more then likely would have been the victor of the Battle Royale. Also had Kitano not interfered Mitsuko probably would of had a good running for a final battle with Kiriyama.
***OKAY, it's like over***

*SPOILERS*
What do you mean if Kitano hadn't interfered? Mitsuko did fight Kiriyama...and got shot many times :). I loved when she slashed him with the sickle and he had the bulletproof vest on so he just smiles and kills her :P She takes a lot of killing though.
Also, still spoilers, did you know that the part with Kiriyama blind and his eyes bleeding is what inspired Johnny Depp getting his eyes gouged out in Once Upon A Time In Mexico? Interesting. But i reckon that Kiriyama would have owned Kawada if he hasn't have been blind. Hell he still managed to shoot and eventually kill Kawada anyway, and he was blind. But oh well...i personally would have liked to see Kiriyama survive and go on Nanahara's side in the second movie, so he could kick more ass.
*END SPOILERS*
And Triton, if you wanna show a pic here, don't bother with html. Even though the scripting you did was wrong i don't think html works much on invisionfree, so do [ img ]direct link to image here[ /img ] (and take out the spaces between the img and the square brackets :))
Orrrrrr just upload like me lol.

*SPOILERS*
When I said Kitano interfered was when he scared Mitsuko away from killing Noriko. No doubtedly she would have also killed Nanahara as well when he came shambiling back up. Kawada would have killed her then unless of course she'd done the smart thing and ran off after disposing of nanahara. Then it would have been down to Mitsuko, Kiriyama, and Kawada for a
final battle. Which would have been more interesting to see.
As for the HTML, that's not HTML, that is BB Code, for some reason it cut itself off. I know HTML won't work on most forums unless they specified to have it on. BB code is pretty much the universal thing now.

It's not as pretty as having a thumnail but the coding for that continually cuts itself off.

*SPOILERS*
Ah i see...and if she'd have died, then Kotohiki (the girl who killed Sugimaru just before the Kiriyama/Mitsuko fight) would have been killed by Kiriyama instead...although he showed up a minute or two later, so maybe she could have run away in that time? (nah :P)
It's the best when he's got the samurai sword :)

***SPOILERS***
Him cutting off Toshimora Oda's head and stuffing it with a grenade and throwing it through the window at Noriko, Kawada, and Nanahara was just class.
I think the scene I liked the most was the lighthouse, after Sakaki unintentonially poisons Nakagawa and then Satomi Noda opens up on the remaining three. Hell, Noda was cute o.O;

*POSSIBLE SPOILERS* (yeah i know it says up the top there's spoilers but i'm ignoring whoever put that there and spoilering each part where necessary...in case people want to read certain unspoiled parts)
Ohhh yeah, hot japanese schoolgirls shooting each other. Can't get much better! I reckon Sakaki Yuko was cuter, but Suka (i think that's her name; the one who talks to nanahara when he's in bed) is daaamn nice :P

They seemed to be using that UZi a little too much for my liking, i'd rather be using that pump shotgun for when those crazies with blades charged at me.
