Two big thumbs down.... JK... They look pretty good... good job thier....

I really like your new style (I suppose it was spawned from those new attributes you found?). I mean, yeah, your "lines and squares period" was okay, but for some reason I find this new flare very appealing. Maybe because it's letting your cropping do the talking rather than using blatent effects - I tend to like a somewhat minamalistic approach. Either way, I find them very stylish and it's cool seeing your PS work moving in an all new direction.

Kiefer Sutherland - December 7, 2005 02:01 AM (GMT)
Yeah, it was a new effect I found...I think it looks rather awesome...and Ill be implementing it on the site as well...

In fact, I might make it a trademark of mine now...TEXT SIGS!!! If you would like one of my text sigs then you can post in that request thread thingy...in fact, tonight Ill make my own...

But yeah, glad you people like em...

Kiefer Sutherland - December 7, 2005 12:51 PM (GMT)
Sorry for the double post people, but here's another one I made for Ally...similar to the previous sig I made for her, it uses the new effect Im using...

Sweet. Ally's matches her avatar wich, no offense, looks like crap.. but the sig makes it look good.

Bill Gates - December 8, 2005 12:04 AM (GMT)
Well, I have a few gripes about this text sig thing...and it's probably because I had to deal with it when I was working.

Some of the letters are too close together, and some of them are too far apart. Especially on Ally's. Makes it look really hurried through. I don't like it that much.

Jack Thompson - December 8, 2005 12:13 AM (GMT)
Sheesh, Katie. Must you ALWAYS find fault with EVERYTHING?

But, uh, yeah...what she said. Although on Ally's, it's cool how the spacing seems to match up with the lighting. <shrug>

Bill Gates - December 8, 2005 12:19 AM (GMT)
Hey, I have a right to an opinion. I mean, look at it. To me, what I see is:

SHINOBIW ARRIOR

It looks like it's separating. And the 'SHIN' part just looks waaaay to bunched together for my liking. The 'HIN' almost looks like it's touching.

All I'm saying is he needs to watch the spacing and choose some fonts that don't split away from the separate characters. I had to deal with that problem a lot when setting up Letterman's Jackets. It's tedious, but it's what's gotta be done if you don't wanna make it look half-assed. Sorry, but that's just what I'm seeing.

That's not Peter's fault...I made it myself in Paint since I don't have any image editing software XD. I know it's crappy, but chalk it up to sentementality (like a mother framing her three year old's drawing of a horse that looks more like a head of lettuce)

Anywho, just wanted to make a public thank you. And to say I didn't notice the spacing myself, but that's probably because I'm about as inexperienced as you can find when it comes to this stuff XD. But yeah....um....*hugs siggy*

Yes, I noticed that too...Im thinking of fixing it because it does look pretty poor...But this is only my second shot at this so give us a break...

It does all depend on the font though, you need to use a big font otherwise you cant see the image properly, but on the flipside, if you use a big font, it might look like that...really, it wasnt so spaced out when I didnt use caps lock, but then the r's didnt show enough of the background pic...oh well...Ill fix it with another font...

Other than that its ok?

Ok...fixed...dunno if the font matches though...

Comparing it to the original logo, I'm guessing you grayscale'd the original, gave the kanji some coloring, cut the silver of the text out, making it transparent for the character images to show through, right?

Not too shabby. My main beef is the white border. It's kinda pixely and jagged. And the red looks randomly thrown on to me o_o;

Jack Thompson - February 28, 2006 01:00 AM (GMT)
Looks fine to me.

Then again, this is coming from a guy who's peak artistic ability is cutting and pasting characters from other pictures.

Actually, I didnt grayscale the thing at all...I got a lightning effect and colour blended over the top...the gray bit just happened to be where there was no colour, so thats prolly why it looks just thrown on, but really its how the effect went...oh, and for the characters, I didnt cut anything out...I just used the classic pic-in-text effect I have been using...

As for the border...I suppose you're right...I guess I didnt really notice when I made it...XD

Oh and btw, JJ, I dont care if you're experience level is up with some of the others...if you think it looks cool, or you dont like the look of something, then I'll take it into account...

Toushiro Hitsugaya - February 28, 2006 01:38 AM (GMT)
I like the white border...

I think it looks Spiffy...

Well, even me and my 1337 skillz couldn't win at guessing his technique so...xD

Hugh Laurie - February 28, 2006 07:39 AM (GMT)
Yeah it's the jagged edge that bothers me. But everything looks cool and pretty. Pretty. Yes pretty. And I don't know know the actual image, which is why my commentary is odd.

The colors are awesome.

But no, how can that be classic if I don't know how to do it. Or maybe I do and just haven't tried. Either case, splendid work! I like this better than the previous one. ;)

Kiefer Sutherland - February 28, 2006 12:14 PM (GMT)
If you guys wanted to know, its really very simple...just get the text you would like to put the image into, make sure the image layer is above the text layer, and then hold alt and click the line seperating the 2 layers in the layer window...

If that doesnt make sense I'll post a screenshot up if you want to know more...but thats how you do it...and I'll fix the border up in a minute...

Finally, thanks Elza and everyone for the good comments...

Bill Gates - March 1, 2006 01:06 AM (GMT)
I knew how you did the whole transparent text sig style, I just was completely wrong on the various things you did to it. lol

Well yah, if your life is based pretty much on toying around with your bootlegged photoshop all day, I would say you do.. Joe, you're so cruel to me ; ;

Anyways, great work man. Everything is good except something seems a little off to me with the distribution of red. The border is good, but I can't know if I'd like it better without it unless I see it that way.

It's not FF-related. Why does knowing how he did it have any meaning to you, anyway?

Good point. Oh well.

Very nice, and well blended together, too. I have no idea what the text on the right side says, or what it says underneath Ace Combat 5, but aside from that, nice set.

Kiefer Sutherland - March 13, 2006 12:08 PM (GMT)
I didnt really intend for you to read the bit on the side, but the bit under Ace Combat 5 says The Unsung War...as its the title...meh...not that important though...I personally think its my best one so far...Im really happy with it...

Toushiro Hitsugaya - March 13, 2006 05:31 PM (GMT)
Yes, it does look very good... KTs right, the blending looks great.

Shawn Michaels - March 13, 2006 07:51 PM (GMT)
I believe this is the best set you've ever made. :^)

Kiefer Sutherland - March 14, 2006 02:50 AM (GMT)
Thanks guys...Im glad people like this one because Im really proud of it...so yeah...
