Title: The Dawn of a New Era...
Description: Welcome Angel Tide, to your new site...

Kiefer Sutherland - November 1, 2005 12:16 PM (GMT)
Good morning/evening/afternoon eveyone...if you havent already figured out from reading the title, Angel Tide: The Website is up and running for the first time...however, before you run off and check everything out, I want to say a few words to you all...

I have to say, making this site has been a major challenge for me, not only because I did it in less than a week, but also that before I started, I had no experience in html or web design at all...so I had to test, edit, redo, and recode alot of the site...however, I think it has turned out remarkably well...

There were a fair few problems to deal with though along the way...first of all, Elza didnt have the .psd file for the banner, which meant i had to do major edits to it in order to make it practical for the site...I wanted links along the bottom, but trying to edit a .jpg to accomodate it is near on impossible...but I think I manged well enough...then I tried to have those same links work with the forum banner...however, that didnt work out like I wanted so I just scrapped that idea and went with the forum banner you see today...

Another issue I had to face was the page layout...at first, I decided on something, and made a whole heap of pages...then I changed my mind, so consequently I had to redo alot of those pages...the most annoying part had to be the sidebar...it was definately the thing I had to redo the most because I ended up reshuffling the links and adding more in and stuff...

However, as it stands, the vast majority of pages are finished perfectly...there are about 3 pages I havent finished, but they will be up in the next few days...

Now, there are quite a few people I need to thank for this:

-RPGamer...for someone who spent the best part of 12 months away from Angel Tide, this guy has really put in...he's easily the biggest contributer out of everyone who has...not only has he started a game review article, he's done a bio, supplied ac gifs, and also made banners for the banner contest...Plus, he also kept me happy with some rather interesting aim chats during the time I was making it...thanks alot man...

-Kie...Maybe not a big contributer, but he did do something vital...see, the webhost just plain doesnt have enough space for all the images the site uses, and I didnt want to get caught with 2 photobucket accounts, so I asked kie to register another one...which he did...it seems rather insignificant, but if that extra account didnt get made, the site wouldnt be up...

Also, Kie was instrumental in getting the new board style working...as you will read below, KT helped me out alot with getting the colours changed, but it probably would have been in vein if it werent for kie and the java and stuff he learnt at uni...I didnt know anything about style sheets pretty much...so kie's help was very welcome indeed...

-KT...Not only has she made a massive impact since becoming admin, she also helped me out immensely with the forum style...it wasnt exactly the easiest thing to do when you dont know what you're doing...but we got alot of it done by stumbling through...I think I would have been here til christmas if I hadnt had her help...so thanks for that...

-Everyone else who contributed...Doesnt matter what you've submitted so far, its all good...you've still done alot to help...so thanks everyone...

Hopefully this site will allow us to move forward in terms of activity...we now have a place that can really define our place on the web...

And so, after 38 hours of non-stop work on this...Im going to bed...Enjoy people...

Looks pretty good. I especially like the color scheme. The dark colors, with a hint of brightness seem to reveal a certain struggle, of sorts. It seems that it is, indeed, the dawn of a new era, and the site is fighting to break free from its bonds, to usher in an age of peace and prosperity. There is a sense of hope, and of almost certain victory, in these colors. It's as if to say, "This site is only the beginning! With a little effort, we can change the world and create a better tomorrow!"

...

...

...ok, so maybe that was a little overboard. But seriously, looks pretty good.

Now all we have to do is keep it updated...which should be interesting. But astethically speaking the site looks quite lovely ^ ^! Excellent Job!!!

*runs off to whore site*

Bill Gates - November 1, 2005 11:05 PM (GMT)
I added an extra link to the website next to the portal link on the top corner, so now nobody has an excuse of not knowing where to find it :P

Not that I think any of you would be like that. *glare*

Kiefer Sutherland - November 2, 2005 12:37 AM (GMT)
Look...Im glad everyone likes the site...I really am...and soon Im going to learn some more so that I can make it more intereactive, for example, I would like to add polls, maybe a google search bar, a registration page on the site, some members only links, and some other things...

But for the moment, we can enjoy it like it is...

Hah, I was going to suggest that! The neosepiroth at the end makes me think of a personal website but maybe I'm just being picky about it. -_-

Ah well I'm late. Been away. -_- (Lordy you have no idea how full my inbox is right now.) Anywho, good god Peter, this is fabulous! What you did is just perfect I must say. Plus re-using some of the images from the other banners made it even better. It's just wow. I'm kinda speechless.

About the .psd file, I just don't see the trouble with embedding the jpeg on? I mean, maybe I just don't get it. :P Haha, I haven't touched HTML in over a year since I closed my own website so I guess that's the problem... ;)

Well, good work!:p Can't wait for more stuff to come. *bookmarks*

That means alot...it really does...

Ive had a number of people tell me how much they like the stuff Ive done...and it really makes me proud that Ive been able to do something that has actually made a mark on this place for a good reason...I mean, even the AT story had an unsavoury backdrop to it...but this is something special...its something we've never been able to do before and now its happened...

What Im particularly happy with myself, is how quickly I was able to make it and still have it (mostly) working right and looking great...especially the forum...I think Kie needs a medal for the help he gave me...Ill say this now...there is NO way I would have got the forum to look like it does now without his help...

I think you've all done a great job in helping me get this thing done...I can make it look good and all that, but you people provided me with something that makes it worthwhile...so thats great...

Bill Gates - November 5, 2005 03:38 AM (GMT)
Maaaan. Kie made it much more spiffier.

:applause:

Good job. Looks very cool ^^

Bruce Lee - November 5, 2005 08:52 AM (GMT)
lol thanks Peter, but it wasn't much, just trial and error working out the code and then editing colours and links. Kinda fun though...when it worked. Happy to help.

Peter's still done the most and best work out of everyone, getting the site up. God knows how he figured all that out, there's a big jump between editing style code and making a whole site. What would AT do without aussies ;)

lol...yeah, where would you people be without us Aussies?

aj - November 7, 2005 08:21 AM (GMT)
nice ^^

Bruce Lee - November 7, 2005 08:38 AM (GMT)
I assume Peter or Katie added the new buttons. They're pretty wicked.

Bill Gates - November 7, 2005 09:40 AM (GMT)
t'wasn't me.

They look weird to me, but it's prolly 'cause I'm not used to them being different xD

Kiefer Sutherland - November 7, 2005 01:38 PM (GMT)
I made the new buttons last night...if you dont like them I can change them...I was just sick of the default ones so I put these in...I havent finished changing all the graphics though...some more will come soon...

Metal Sonic - November 8, 2005 02:55 AM (GMT)
The name Boomspeed sounds inappropriate...:P

anyways, good job on the site, I'd help but I gotta get my B's up to A's and such.

Bruce Lee - November 8, 2005 06:08 AM (GMT)
lol and we all wonder why he called it neosephiroth instead of angeltide or something.

Kiefer Sutherland - November 8, 2005 09:06 AM (GMT)
People...that account has been around for 3 odd years...I just used it cause it was a good, reliable free host...I would have got another one for AT but they stopped accepting free registrations a year or so ago...besides, would you rather have a link that says neosephiroth or a whole bunch of popups coming up?

Either way, kt set up that redirection link you can use as well... http://www.angeltide.tk unless its not working anymore...o_O

Bill Gates - November 8, 2005 09:54 AM (GMT)
To my knowledge it's still working ._.,

Bruce Lee - November 8, 2005 10:00 AM (GMT)
Like the spoiler tags before they were deleted. j/k i'll stop about that now.

I'll be glad to take any complaints anyone has about the forum. Give praise to the two admins that have done all that work, not rants.

Metal Sonic - December 24, 2005 07:52 PM (GMT)
I am considering doing graphix for the site, on a (hopefully) regular basis...Just check out what I made today in my sig.
