Title: Final Fantasy VII PS3 Tech Demo
Description: Please let them actually do it...

Toushiro Hitsugaya - September 18, 2005 05:49 AM (GMT)
You all probably seen the PS3 Tech demo of FF7... it's just epic..... unfortunately they say they don’t have plans to actually do a remake, but that doesn’t mean that they wont....

So I guess in here we can talk about if they do remake it, what do you think they should change, add or keep the same from the original...

I would like them to add more matiera and the Bahamut Sim summon from AC.... cant really think of anything else...

Bill Gates - September 18, 2005 06:09 AM (GMT)
Well, for one, FIX THE TYPOS!

"This guy are sick" xD

And umm..other than graphics, I'd be fine. Maybe some voice over, that'd be cool. :D

Bruce Lee - September 18, 2005 10:37 AM (GMT)
Yep, but as i keep tellin ya, 2007/08 i reckon the remake will come out. 10 year anniversary.

Kiefer Sutherland - September 18, 2005 03:42 PM (GMT)
Although a remake would be awesome, there should be a serious limit on what they "remake"...

A graphics overhaul would be a good idea, and new audio effects and music versions would be good...voices would be great, but the problem is that they absolutely MUST use the same voices as AC...however, the problem is, if they use voices, name changing is out of the question...

Things that should not be tampered with however are:
- Script (Edit the typo's yes, but leave it alone from then on...unless its absolutely necessary for the voice overs...)
- Gameplay elements (Make sure all enemies/bosses/mini games are all the same...maybe make the bad guys a little tougher...but other than that no changes...)
- 3rd Disc (THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT!!! The 3rd disc is possibly the best part of the game, cause you can just run around doing random crap for as long as you want...)

Overall, if they keep it very close to the original, but give it tech demo/ac style graphics and sound...then we could have an epic game on our hands and Square-Enix will have a nice little money earner...but they have to do it right...

True, they shouldn’t change anything except the typos, But it would cool to add another WEAPON to fight, some more materia....

And put in the things they had to leave out due to time restrictions with the original.

Well, according to a recent interview with Nomura on 1up, he's hinting once again that he's open minded about it:

QUOTE
1UP: OK. My last question is, the FF7 tech demo for PS3 is very provocative. And there are only probably about 15 million people out there who would like to see it become a game. Is he as interested in seeing an FF7 remake as everyone else is?

TN: The PS3 tech demo was actually not the perfect forum that he wanted to have. It was just timing that we had to submit something in time for E3, for the press conference. So, again, it was not perfect forum. And the 7 remake idea was always, always in conversation, just because it's so popular. And then just because of that tech demo here in the PS3 conference, that probably based more expectations of fans, obviously. And Kitase-san already has told Nomura-san so many times that if there is a remake, that should be created by Nomura. But, again, Nomura-san has so many other projects lined up already in the future schedule, so it's almost impossible to think about that and squeeze that in. But if there is a right time, it would be interesting to create.

1UP: You just started a fire nobody's going to be able to put out. It's going to drive people crazy. Thank you very much.

Not a true-er (is that right? O_o) word said...

Bill Gates - September 20, 2005 09:30 PM (GMT)
Well, Sakaguchi did leave a while back, didn't he? He's not part of S-E anymore, if I remember correctly.

And where is Kitase getting all the credit from? All he said was that if there were to be a FFVII remake, Nomura should be the one to do it, for obvious reasons. <3333

...I don't have a Nomura obsession, really. ^^,,

Kie, I think you hit the nail on the head with the 2007/2008 prediction. No doubt in my mind that they won't go through with it now.

Yeah he left.... he formed the company Mistwalker..... But aleast we got Nomura... :P

:ninja: Kitase
