I was just thinking of RP ideas and then was reminded of Nam somehow. I think it would be cool to do some sort of actual war RP, without the super world decimating abilities and strange beings in fantasy RPs...just a normal RP with normal artillery and weaponery...and set in an actual wartime like Nam or Iraq or something. Ideas anyone?

Do a WW sort of RP,having each chara controling a nation a piece. We would also need someone to make decisions,like if a person tries a tactic,the person who makes decisions would state if it worked and so forth,basically it would have to be an admin over the RP.

Would this RP be like modern day wars with guns, or like swords and stuff?

We always seem to have swords and stuff, this one would be more like the modern day. I like the idea of a world war, but not the controlling nations part. That involves controlling too many people at once, and we wouldn't be able to have any good battles.

Hm..so more like just us RP'ers being on the front lines of a war? That's interesting.

That sounds great and all, but I was kinda hoping for a storyline. Like uh ... Just not battles, maybe not CONTROLLING nations, but actual presidents, and a general/sergeant/ a regular soldier. You know? And we have a reason for fighting other than just fighting all over the place. Because if it's just fighting all over the place you might as well make separate threads on each battle. >_>

Well, if we did something like that with Presidents or whatever, it'd be almost like the Gardens, which in a way, wouldn't be so bad since we've done something like that before...but we'd need really active leaders for giving commands and whatnot, not to mention they should have skillz. (Did I just say that? xD) Higher ranking military officers would probably wouldn't be so bad.

And I know what you mean by wanting a storyline Shay. Like, background story info which leads up to the current state of the war...and that's where all teh RP'ers come in.

And by the way, I think if we make presidents, and make nations with different sides, this will make us more a team; because in order to win the war, the president would have to consult with his team mates, and you know, it'd just be more fun in AIM and stuff. We can work together and remind ourselves that the RP is still going.

Very nice idea Kie...it could be set up pretty easily...although the thing I would like to know is rankings...is every member going to be a grunt, or are we going to have generals and captains and stuff? Also, are there going to be any limitations on skills and stuff, for example whether everyone can drive a tank or whether that is specific to certain members? Another question I have is whether we have specific devisions like the Marines etc...

All that probably depends on how technical you want this RP...really that is your own choice...

On the point of the story, we have at least 2 brilliant writers on this forum in myself (not that I like to brag) and Jill...so I know I would be willing to create a storyline for this unless you really want Jill to do it...I mean I havent written anything for a while and this would be a perfect opportunity to get back in gear, even if it isnt overly long...so yeah...that would probably also help answer a few of the previous questions...

The problem I have with the presidents idea, is that it would mean you have an unbalance in power in the RP...we can still create a team environment by making individual garrisons and or teams...(delta team etc)...

However, we could have a "commanding officer" admin who creates scenarios and stuff for the RPers to complete...however, I would suggest that that admin would now participate in the RP...so yeah...that would make it a bit more interesting...so while there is the overall battle against whoever, a team would have to go on a recon mission that goes wrong, or they may have to reclaim a hostage from a building or something...

Finally, if you want to make it a major RP, I suggest we go back to the old method of creating it in a new board...

I wouldn't mind ya writin the backround story. I just have one request,I don't want to be a leader,but I don't really wanna just be a grunt either,so I'm thinkin maybe I could be like a Lieutenant-Commander or somethin?
