Quigz - July 20, 2005 04:01 AM (GMT)
i have HBO and i used to rent a lot but now its just like i have no time go to rent a movie any more so i just click on HBO and catch part of a good movie. for instance i have seen the end to spiderman 2 4 times now and havent seen the begining
so what is everyones opinion on this??
what is better?
Renting or Movie Channels?

I personally like watching movies via Charter with their little demand option.. I can start, stop, rewind, fast forward, and save movies whenever I want, granted it's on the list of movies provided. They have comedy specials and other stuff too. It's pretty cool. The channels I get for demand are HBO, Starz, Showtime, and Cinemax ^_^ So I have a huge variety of stuff.

I never rent anymore.

Yeah, if there comes a time when I wanna watch something really old, that's when I'll rent it...but that's very rarely. OnDemand is like, awesome right now. ^^,

I use both equally,I've got a blockbuster and Hollywood video right down the street,so when I'm walkin home, sometimes I'll just stop in and grab a movie. But then I also just chill on the couch and watch some On Demand sometimes too,so I dunno,a 50/50 split for me.

I don't have on demand, but I live near two video stores and we have an account at one where we buy "blocks" of 20 movies and just take them out when we want (sorta like a tab I guess but with movies). It's good for me, cuz my friends and I can spontaniously decide to rent something and we can just go do it since it's pre-paid. Plus a lot of the movies I like watching are old favorites of mine...I usually go see the new flicks in theaters and then have no need to see them again.

I don't have on Demand (as much as I would like it >.<), but I do have HBO. The one complaint I have about HBO is that they show the same movies every day. (Prime example this week: the day after tomorrow! >.<) I like to rent too, but I'm lazy, so I don't do it that often.

If you pay for cable, why rent?

Yeah, I've noticed that too, with the movie channels. When there's actually something you want to watch on it, if you miss part, you can watch it again in like, 6 hours XD

But it's like that for months x.x

Well, I dont have pay TV (cable for you yanks) so if I wanna see a movie I have to wait til it eventally comes to free to air (you could die waiting for that) or Rent...in which case I rent...however, a more suitable alternative for me is this:

We rent movies every so often from Video Ezy, however, they also have a stack of DVD's at the local library, which we have 2 cards at...so I can just drop in and pick up a couple of free rentals from there (or get my dad to do it), so yeah...then if we like em we just burn the movies...XD...right now we have like 50 movies (about 38 of which are burnt...)
