Title: TeH Chef-d'oeuvre
Description: Noooot! But the title is spiffy anyways.
Bill Gates - February 21, 2005 10:53 PM (GMT)
Right, so this is where I'm gonna display all my stuff from now on. My gallery, so to speak. Welcome. View and review please :P
First off, I used
this tutorial on ACF for a water sphere...and after fiddlin' around with coloring/effects, I came up with this (and it's dark, as usual xD)
Xen si - February 21, 2005 10:59 PM (GMT)
Oooh, nice *claps* Uh.. what is it? lol

As I said, it's a water sphere with some adjustments to my liking..
Archangel of Death - February 22, 2005 12:16 AM (GMT)
Is that face I see in there... deliberate?
Bill Gates - February 22, 2005 05:39 AM (GMT)
Not at all, but I think it looks like a clown.
Hugh Laurie - February 22, 2005 06:05 AM (GMT)
Well now we see something friggin' awesome, yo!:p
It seems more abstract than actually being a thing.
Sanosuke - February 22, 2005 06:10 AM (GMT)
A bit of a border wouldn't hurt, but still good.
Archangel of Death - February 22, 2005 07:20 AM (GMT)
Yah, looked like a clown to me too. But when I first saw the thumbnail in the milliseconds before clicking it, I almost thought I saw horns (demon style sorta), so I was looking for a face... with horns...

So none of my stuff is good... ;_; (j/k)

Someone's jealous?:P
I compliment your work too you know!
Bill Gates - February 22, 2005 02:14 PM (GMT)
Eh, everything I do is abstract...for now anyways. I'm experimenting with avatar/signature-ish stuff, but you won't see those until it's something worth showing.
Meaning they aren't worth crap yet. xD
Bill Gates - February 23, 2005 04:57 AM (GMT)
Eh, I've turned this into my own graphic thread now..so this gives me the opportunity to double post, aye?
I got bored and decided to make a UMK icon-ish thing. I fiddled around with the lighting around the little sphere above the hand(created the sphere from scratch), trying to give it a kinda glow and elemental magic kinda feel..I dunno ^^, Did I succeed in the illusion? xD
Any feedback is welcome..I'm still just getting the hang of it, so I'll need all the help I can get :D
Xen si - February 23, 2005 05:14 AM (GMT)
It's awsome, I love it! I dunno about the sphere thing though.. just looks like a shiny purple ball. Shiny's good though :D. I can't really offer any suggestions since I don't know how any of that works..

You never said anything of mine was "friggin awesome"...in fact you last response to something I posted was "Meh"
I don't remember saying Meh!!!!
Oh you said meh...and...NEVER...EDIT...MY...POSTS...
KT...Nice try...However, you've got a dark coloured object and are trying to make it glow by using white light...doesnt work...here's 2 methods of doing it properly...
1) The hard and annoying way - Crop the sphere out of the picture and use the Layer Blending Options...these can be accessed via right clicking on the particular layer and then selecting "Blending Options"...then go to "Outer Glow" and then choose your colour and stuff...a bit fiddly though, especially if you're new to the game...so I suggest you use the next option...
2) Use "Lighting Effects" in the "Filters" menu (under "Render")...postition where you want the light to go just how you did in the pic...but this time, change the colour of the light...you can do that by clicking on one of the 2 white boxes to the right of the lighting effects window...actually, if you put a different colour in each of the boxes, then it mixes them...this is by far an easier method, and because you already used lighting effects for this pic then you should know how to do it as well...
Other than that though, it looks really good, especially for a beginner...keep it up...

Latest creation, and my first banner in which I've blended an image into:
Bill Gates - February 26, 2005 06:40 AM (GMT)
Another siggy template-ish thing. I might incorporate it into an actual banner later on.
Satone - February 26, 2005 07:50 PM (GMT)
Looks okay...
I can't say that I'm impressed, but I feel that at the rate you're moving, I feel that I will be shortly.
Keep up the good work, and don't take that as an insult.
Kiefer Sutherland - February 27, 2005 02:15 AM (GMT)
For someone who only got ps recently, I reckon thats very good...hopefully if you do incorperate it, you will make the text a bit easier to read...its almost impossible...however the bg is very good...
Kusajishi Yachiru - February 27, 2005 05:20 AM (GMT)
::cuddles teh mango:: Im so proud of my Katie-80. Im not surprised though. She learned how to use InDesign in Yearbook right quick too. Her page you really perdy. Even though I typed in a lot of the captions >.>;; But anywho, the captions dont really pertain to this section anyways! ::Takes out golden star sticker and puts it on his KT's nose:: And you deserved it too. ::shifty eyes:: Dont tell anyone but I just posted here so I could rack up my post total and get rid of my n00b status. Shhh, dont tell that sephiroth meanie poopy head.

Bill Gates - February 27, 2005 08:49 AM (GMT)
Peter, which one did you have trouble with reading the text in? I'll try to fix it up.
In my opinion, I think my Cloud banner came out the best out of all the things I've done so far...could just be because it's Cloud related though o.o;;;
I think I'll stick to making avatars first though. Start off small and work my way up.

Too late...any more of this and you'll be permenantly stuck as a n00b...
KT, I meant the non cloud one...I can read the text in the cloud one fine...but the one without cloud I could hardly read...ok?
Bill Gates - February 27, 2005 06:28 PM (GMT)
Ah, okies. Yeah, with that one I didn't do anything special to the text layer when I merged it, and it came out like so. Unfortunately, I forgot to save the PSD file >.>
Bill Gates - March 2, 2005 04:55 AM (GMT)
I found a puddle on my desktop and moved the water around a bit...yeah ^^,
Not sure how I'll incorporate my new 'Rain' style into anything yet..but who knows. I think it looks cool.
Hugh Laurie - March 2, 2005 05:28 AM (GMT)
You're doing well! May I suggest something? In that Cloud banner, instead of making the text like that, maybe you can make it smaller and probably use something plain and just make the layer "Soft Light". That always comes out having a good effect. It's almost like he's thinking it.... if you get what I mean. It would have worked well also if you just had the japanese text.
For the second one... it's er.. boxy. xD Just change the text probably. *nod*
And puddles. xD Love 'em. Yes, you should incorporate it somewhere. :P
Bill Gates - March 28, 2005 09:27 AM (GMT)
Considering the full size of the image is almost a megabyte, I can't give you a full version (which would be 500x150)
So I present to you the tiny, photobucket-resized version of my second animation: The Thunderstorm

Although it doesn't look much like the original that I <3 so dearly...If you wanna see the original, just ask me.
Kiefer Sutherland - April 4, 2005 12:39 PM (GMT)
Thats pretty cool...Ive done a few things lately so Ill prolly post em up at some point...
But yeah that animation is awesome...I might even save it its that cool...especially if you can somehow get the original large version up...
Chase - April 7, 2005 02:42 AM (GMT)
yea KT, you did a good job with that one... -ish jealous cause he sucks at animations- >:P but the full bigger version looks very nice
Bill Gates - April 10, 2005 11:11 PM (GMT)
Peter, if you wanna see the original one, I can send it to you. It looks a lot better than the mini-version ^^
Here's some more stuff I made a few weeks back, but never posted. 'tis just abstract and random doodle-ish things..like usual *shrug*
Star FieldIce WallRandom Spikey Ball!
Kiefer Sutherland - April 11, 2005 12:45 AM (GMT)
Nice...the spikey ball is impressive...and I see you used the tiles glass distortion for the second one...all over, pretty impressive...
Bill Gates - July 22, 2005 12:50 AM (GMT)
Long time no post in here..but here's a new one.

I actually blended an image into something this time xD And I'm still messing around with the transparency. I just made the boxes real quick, and I realize now that they look funky without the border..but meh. I'll fiddle with it later.
Comments? Feedback?
Mr. T - July 22, 2005 05:09 PM (GMT)
That one is really cool! ^.^ I like.
Bill Gates - July 23, 2005 01:02 AM (GMT)
Thankies Jilly ^_^
I'm done messing with it now, so here's finished siggy:

Quigz - July 24, 2005 06:41 AM (GMT)
thats kewl!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
are you going to make a avi to go with it???
Bill Gates - July 25, 2005 06:20 AM (GMT)
I dunno. I was thinking of maybe making an animated avatar to go with it. -shrug-
Kiefer Sutherland - July 25, 2005 11:04 AM (GMT)
Not bad...a few things though...
1. the font is too dark...its hard to read...
2. I dont like the boxes...transperency is all well and good, but it just looks like you tacked on a few rectangles to your sig for some reason...a more internal approach would have looked better...even if you had attatched the horizontal rectangles to the main sig, then it would have been better...but as it is I dont like them...sorry...
However, thats not saying I dont like it...the pic is well cropped (if it was) and the background does its job...it doesnt draw your attention but isnt too plain...
Bill Gates - July 25, 2005 10:28 PM (GMT)
Yeah, I did boxes to see if I could pull off something transparent. I did it on the side to make sure it didn't screw around with the main part of the sig. So yeah, my result was that I could pull off something transparent, and therefore I'll try different transparency next time.
Oh, and yes, the picture was cropped by me. Took a hell of a long time to do though >.< Doubt I'll ever use that picture again xD
Bill Gates - August 6, 2005 07:16 AM (GMT)
Double post! Ahhhh! Too bad, it's my thread. >:P
Anywho, I made a Sakura icon earlier, 'cause you know..she kicks ass and all now.
First I took a black and white raw manga shot and fiddled around with the hue, made a background, added text, and I came up with this:

Then I tried to think of what I could do to it to make it look better, but nothing looked right to me without any color to Sakura herself. So I commenced coloring, added a flower brush (Sakura = Cherry Blossom, after all), added some effects to the text and came up with this:

But then I after I finished, I decided the coloring just wasn't right. I fiddled with a few color switches and thought it looked good; up until I put it on photobucket. I went back yet again and a few highlights later brought me to this, which I think turned out much better:

In the words of Strongbad...IT'S OVER!
Oh, and for those who didn't happen to see the animated Sakura I made a few days ago or so on my LJ(I made it 'cause of my uh.."stalker" xD), here's that one too:

Quigz - August 19, 2005 04:50 PM (GMT)
i like the whole production stage story line thingy kattie
it was kewl
for some reason i thought sakura should
of had darker hair but then i looked at her
all animed and it looks like the same color.
i dunno but thats a kewl icon i wish i had photoshop skillz
