Title: In the arena
Description: I have a couple of questions

Koya Muraki - February 4, 2005 04:21 AM (GMT)
The first is: Is there an rpg that is like fighting in an arena where players fight like galdiators?
Second: Is it ok to ask such questions in this forum section?

Metinks so...but only if you plan on actually starting one. Then you can just go ahead and start it here. Gladiators sounds cool. Just fill in the details and such and I'm sure others might join. Next time you have a question you can either ask in the "suggestions and advice" column ..or whatever its called...and ask it there. Or you could just PM somebody. Anyway, basically you can have an RPG about anything you want...as long as its farely serious. No goofy stuff like "when I went to the zoo with my good friend zoolazoo" or "how my head got blown to bits" or something like that...you get the point right?

I will start one if one has not already been started.

I would like all questions that pertain to RPs posted in this forum. That makes it less of a hassle to have to go to another part of the forum and look for something I don't know is there. Your question is quite logical, and yes, such an RP creation would be conceivable.

If you're going to start one, place it in either the Thousand Tales or Warrior Hall.

To answer your last question: I know that no one has started such a thread. You'd be the first.

Ok then. If you've seen Gladiator you'll know where my ideas came from.

Fighters are prisoners. You'll have to create a character for this. The fight to the death. The setting is a futuristic, Roman-like Empire.

Rules:
Once a character dies that character cannot return to fight in the arena. Another character can be created if first character has died.
There would be a selection of weapons to use.
It would be a good idea to gain the love of the crowd (in this case anyone who isn't rp). If the player gain the crowd, the "ceasar" would grant him freedom. The player can choose to contiue rp or leave.
If a player wishes to show another player mercy, the crowd can vote if the other player lives. The ceasar has final say. The player can choose to spare life but doing this may anger the crowd.
There may be occasions when monsters appear. They player may have to fight a monster instead of another player. Monsters can appear during a match.

If anyone has any better ideas or doesn't like any of my rules let me know. I'm free to change the rules.

Treya - February 5, 2005 09:29 PM (GMT)
um....does that mean that some people would be the crowd and ceasar...or is that decided but just one person?

Koya Muraki - February 5, 2005 09:32 PM (GMT)
Anyone just reading the rpg would be the audience. The ceasar would be an appointed person, probably myself if no one else wants to be ceasar.

Coolness. I'm in!

Koya Muraki - February 8, 2005 07:23 PM (GMT)
I would like to know who else may be interested. Post your characters and/or any ideas you may have to this.
Oh, and I could use a little help on how to start and run this idea. I kind of new at this.

i would like to join...and i know how to start an RPG (i manage my own invisionfree RPG site)

Silent Specter - February 10, 2005 01:28 AM (GMT)
Heh, i'll join....as Xiao Hakari. (-- _ --)

Koya Muraki - February 10, 2005 02:31 AM (GMT)
Ok. There's seems to be enough people interested to get things started. Would anyone want to be the ceasar... emperor...whatever he maybe called? Oh. Would anyone want to be in charge of creatures?

Treya - February 10, 2005 02:51 AM (GMT)
It's best if the person in charge of the creatures is impartial to each individual gladiator, and won't add things every two seconds.

Koya Muraki - February 10, 2005 02:56 AM (GMT)
That's true.

damian - February 10, 2005 11:07 PM (GMT)
yes thats a good thing
