Title: Alexander
Description: OMG THAT DUDE IS SO F***IN GAY!

Yuko - December 14, 2004 02:08 AM (GMT)
OK, heres the rundown, Alexander was born a king, yet grew up to be a Gay guy with a dude who looks like a drag queen. There are only 3 FIGHT SCENES IN THIS MOVIE!! the fights are ok, but the movie sucks mostly.

The 3 hour movie consists of him growing up, marring a barbarien woman, him screwing the woman for 30 mins. then 2 fights a sucky scene then another fight then the end.

There u go..

He's gay. And your point is?

I was under the impression that this info on Alexander the Great is all rumors with no facts, and rather controversial. Who knows, maybe he is/was gay, but how the hell am I gonna find out? He's dead.

Besides, does it really matter if he was gay or not? He conquered a hell of a lot of stuff, you should be looking at that aspect, not his sexuality >.>

Now, I haven't seen the movie yet...and dunno if I want to anymore after your descriptions -.-; But I've always been interested in that kind of history..so it might be cool to watch.

Alexander wasn't gay. The guy was obviously bisexual.

I didn't catch this film but I keep hearing about it.

I saw the movie..He was gay..He loved his best friend and even kiss him o nthe lips..Plus the movie sucks..I was liek falling aslep through it..It was nothing about a guy loving his best friend and cheating on him with his slave wife..Well thats what I got throughout the movie..He end up dead anyways for being gay..I think..-shrugs- Not sure..

Oh lordy...you're not gunna make me get on my soap box again and start ranting about how homophobia sucks (and not in the fun way), are you?

I haven't heard much about Alexander's sexlife myself, but he wouldn't be the first leader to swing that way. Julius Ceasar was described to be "every woman's husband, and every man's wife" in an allusion to both bisexuality and promiscuity. While admittadly I haven't heard anything about Alexander, I still have to ask, why does it matter? If he was gay or bi, does that make him any less of a conqueror and military leader? Was he any less of a man?
I think not. As I have said somewhere before, it seems like since the slaves were freed and the women got the vote, we needed another minority to pin down, and guess who's it.
And as this is not in the debate forum, I will stop myself short on my rant on morality and go back on topic (much as it kills me...).

If the fight scenes suck as you said, I prolly won't be seeing it anytime soon. I saw Troy in theaters and kinda felt it a waste of eight bucks, so since this sounds even LESS "action-packed", I'll be passing.

Change the OMG that dude is...... yah, change that to OMFG THAT MOVIE IS SO FRICKIN GAY. I dont have anything against him, just i hated the movie ><''

Sean Connery - December 22, 2004 11:35 PM (GMT)
Then say you hated the movie. Don't call it gay unless it's out humping other male movies.
By making gay a negative term, we're making the sexuality negative as well. It has little to do with having anything against anyone personally, but by making the whole LGBTQ lifestyle something bad, it's ultimatly hurtful to a whole lot of people.

Sorry that that was off topic. I do reiterate that I'm prolly not going to see this in theaters, and maybe even not on video/DVD if it's really that crappy of a movie.

I personally do not think he was gay based on that movie. Sure, he was very affectionate towards his man friend, but he also did like women. maybe not moreso than men, but he did like them lol.

I think it was a good movie. Yeah, it was dragged way too long to be comfortable, and I wouldn't want to watch it again, but I still liked it.....kinda.

I just watched it (yes i'm slow) and i reckon it was a bit cheesy. The few fight scenes they showed were pretty awesome but Colin Farrell cannot act to save his, or Alexander's life. Pathetic acting...always seemed so forced. And the story was weird as well, it didn't really do great for the reputation of Alexander. I suppose by the standards of men back in those days he was alright, but these days he'd be considered a ruthless killer.
