..Just something thats been on my mind lately. I myself seek truth in every way, it is one of my highest persuits. Yet, I've been wondering.. is truth always best known? For instance, if a you were bound to die a sudden death within a matter of days and someone knew, would you rather them let you know or live out the last few moments of your life in contentment, ignorant of your fate?

Depends on your view on life and the situation...I dont seek out the truth...but I definately welcome it if it comes my way...though I have to say...sometimes you really just dont want or need to know it...

Knowledge is power. There's a lot of things I would have done differently, had I know then what I know now.
On the flip-side, ignorance is bliss. And, at the time I was doing all those things I know wouldn't have, I was kinda happy with my perception of how things were.
So...I really dunno. Truth always changes, and what is inarguably valid one day may prove utterly false the next. Truth is what we percieve it to be, and nothing more. It, like many things, is an illusion...intangable and utterly elusive to those who strive for it. But, since we live in a world of mirages and false-sight...what else can you have?

I would rather know the truth. No matter what the outcome of the given situation. Even if I was to die in a matter of days I would like to know in order to do things that I haven't embarked on. Try new foods. Take an adventure. Live the last days of my life to the fullest. Have that last romantic moment with my signifiant other. Honestly wouldn't you want to the same? Yes it would something that would stay on your mind but still you should still know. And that goes for any situation. Say your boyfriend/girlfriend is cheating on you? Would you rather know then to keep dating and feel the heartache of the way they are pushing you away instead them coming right out and saying it? I know I would. Sometimes the truth can hurt but we are capable of getting over what ever it is.

I agree with CelestialFury. And as far as truth being what we make it to be, and an ever changing illusion (If I rightly understood what you were saying Ally) I have to say my opinion differs. There are infinate undeniable truths that exist in the universe. How can we exist and say that truth does not also? I know that I am here, that is an undeniable truth. I know that the things around me are true also. Even if perhaps we were in a situation like in The Matrix for instance, there is still a truth behind the world we live in that is unknown. It is true, however, that we live in a world full of lies and deciet where the truth is very difficult to determine. Our own government cant even always be trusted to tell the whole truth. Yet, the truth is still there.. behind every unsolved murder there is still the criminal who committed the crime, and behind every lie there is still the truth that the liar tries to cover. Though it is difficult to find, the truth can be searched out like an artifact buried beneath miles of dirt or water. In fact, I have found that many truths can be figured through simple logic, just like the famous quote "I think, therefore I am."
