Chapter 3

"What are doing to her? Let her go! Can't you see that something is really wrong?!" said Agent Sydney Bristow.

"We're sorry, Miss Bristow, but she just came in here screaming and throwing a fit. It's probably just a teenage prank," said the man at the desk while the gaurds just stood there grasping the girl tighty by the arms. By that time, her screaming and kicking had been reduced to soft sobs.

"And what if it's not?" countered Sydney. "Just let me talk to her."

"Alright. Release her."

She pulled herself from the gaurds' grip. Then she just stared down at the floor, softly crying to herself and waiting to learn of her fate.

"You can follow me," said Sydney in a calm and gentle voice.

The girl hesitated, but in the end decided to trust Sydney. Not only that, but anything was better than being outside with that maniac that was chasing her.

Sydney led her into a small and secluded room. She sat down in one of the metal chairs and offer the girl a seat across from her. The girl sat and looked down at her feet.

"Can you tell me your name? And how old are you?" asked Sydney.

"Alexandria Camerandez," sniffled the girl. "But most people call me Alex. I'm fourteen."

"Ok, Alex, do you think that you can tell me what happened?" Sydney asked as gently as possible.

"Well, I was just walking down the sidewalk. It started to rain. I t-t-turned and saw a man following me. I tried to lose him, but I couldn't. Then I started to run. He ran after me. Eventually, he c-c-caught up with me and pinned me against a wall. I kicked him and he let go. I took my chance and ran. Soon he was after me again, only this time he had a g-g-gun. I got scared and ran into this building, hoping that someone could help me," said Alex, her voice shakey as she spoke.

"Do you think you could describe the man?"

"He was about six feet tall, blond hair, blue eyes."

Sydney's eyes grew larger and she started to shuffle through a file she was holding. She pulled out a photo and handed it to Alex.

"Is this him?"

"Oh my gosh, how did you know?"

Hello, all! Alright, so this is just an idea I got recently and decided to write it. For some background, it takes place after "A Dark Turn". Everything has happened the way it has on the show so far, except for Sydney and Vaughn's romance. That will come later. Anyway, I don't own any of these characters, except one who you'll meet later, but I'm keeping that person a surprise for now! Anywhoo, if it doesn't get many replies or if it completely sucks, I'll just stop writing. Well, I'm babbling so here it is! RR&E!

Chapter 1

A young girl darted down the street, running as fast as she could. No one saw her and no one noticed her. It was almost as if she were invisible. The tears streaming down her cheeks were disguised by the rain.

It was rush hour in LA and the streets were lined as far as the eye could see with cars containing businessmen and women coming home from a long and tiresome day of work. You could hear honking car horns from a mile away. Rain poured down from the sky onto the rooftops of tall office buildings. Thunder boomed and lightning crashed overhead.

On the outside, everything appeared normal. But as most people know, things are not always as they seem. For in the shadows of a dark alley was the figure of a young man with an evil look in his eyes. He had an order to follow and he was going to fulfill his duty, and no one was going to stand in his way.

His eyes darted around the alley and down the traffic-filled street. It was almost as if he were looking for something, watching and waiting for it to appear. Or was it a someone?

Suddenly, his cold eyes spotted their prize. He jumped out from the alley and made his way down the long street. He was after the girl, and although she ran fast, he ran faster.

The girl turned and saw him coming closer to her. She let out a scream that peirced through the all the noise of the cars and the storm. She gained a few more feet and before she could do anything, she stumbled and fell to the ground.

Before she could get up, the man grabbed her and pulled her into the closest alley. She kicked and screamed but no one heard her. He put her into a headlock and pinned her against the brick wall. She was barely able to breathe, and if she didn't do something soon, it might mean her death.

She did all she could think of to do at the time. She kicked him as hard as she could. He let go of her, stumbled backwards, and yelled out in pain.

The girl quickly dashed down the street, screaming and crying. She turned to see if she had lost him, but he had almost caught up with her. He yelled for her to stop, but she didn't. Then, her worst fears were confirmed as he pulled a small handgun out of his jacket pocket.

And then the shots rang out...

What do you think? If it's like really stupid, tell me so and there won't be any more. If not, more later!

Chapter 2

The girl screamed when she heard the gunshots. She squeezed her eyes shut as she ran, just waiting for a bullet to penetrate her flesh. Suddenly, a bullet swished past her, inches away from her head, only stopping when it hit a street sign.

She knew she had to do something before it was too late. She looked all over for a place to go, a place to hide out. The only place nearby was a large office builing. It would have to work. She ran through the door as quickly as possible, shouting and crying the whole time.

"Help me! Please! Somebody help me!" her distressed and tearful cry echoed off the walls of the almost empty area that remotely resembled a lobby.

The man at the desk looked at her puzzledly.

She ran up to the desk and yelled through her sobs, "Please, oh God, you have to help me! He's coming after me he's-"

"Security!" yelled the man, regarding the girl as a child playing a joke of some sort. "Take this girl outside."

"Please, no, please!" she shrieked as the large gaurds picked her up and dragged her to the exit. "He's trying to kill me! I can't go out there! I can't go, let go of me! Let me go! Let me go!"

She kicked and screamed and just as it seemed that her efforts were in vain, her savior arrived.

Very short, I know! I hope it didn't suck too too bad! Tell me what you think! More later!

Chapter 4

"Stay here!" said Sydney suddenly.

"What do you mean? Wha-" Alex's tears were now gone, but Sydney's reaction caused her to get alarmed.

"Just stay here. You'll find out what's going on as soon as I do."

"But-" Alex tried to argue, but sydney had already disappeared out the door and down the hall.

Alex considered leaving or going to investigate, but she was scared to. This building didn't give off a particular sense of comfort and she was too afraid of who she might meet or what dangers she could come across. She reluctantly settled herself back down into the cold metal chair, and looked down at the ground, telling herself that it was going to be alright. Trying to convince herself that it was all a bad dream.

Meanwhile, Sydney sped down the long, dreary hallways, passing random offices. She wasn't looking where she was going and ran right into a man.

"I'm so sorry-" Sydney quickly tried to apologize.

"Agent Bristow, what are you doing? Why are running down the-"

"Kendall! Oh my gosh, you were just the person I was looking for! There's this girl in the fr-" said Sydney out of breath.

"Wait, what are you talking about? Slow down," Kendall interrupted yet again.

"A girl ran in here about a half an hour ago. She said that a man was chasing her and trying to kill her. She described him and I show her one of the photos we have here on file. She told me that it was him and it confirmed my fears," said Sydney, waiting forsome response from Kendall.

"Well, who was it?" said Kendall impatiently.

"It was Sark," said Sydney.

"Get the girl down here immediately."

This is just a little bit more. Don't know if it will be good or not, I'm just writing this as I go. If it's not good, forgive me.

Chapter 5

Sydney practically flew down the halls to where Alex was waiting for her. She found the girl the exactly the same as she had left her, except that all her tears had dried up. she looked stronger, braver, and ready to face the world again.

Alex looked up at Sydney, who was out of breath, with a questioning look on her face, almost as if she were pondering her fate.

"Alex, you need to come with me."

"Ok," she said, looking down and following Sydney out of the room and down the long hall.

Soon enough they were in a debriefing room filled with the highest ranking officials. When Alex saw all of these important looking people, she became nervous again.

"Miss Camerendez, please take a seat. I'm Director Kendall."

Alex responded by quickly shaking his hand and taking a seat.

"I have a few questions for you but first you must sign these disclosure agreements and put your thumbprint here," said Kendall pointing to a form. She signed the papers and pressed her ink-covered thumb to the page.

After he was satisfied, Kendall cleared his throat and began the interrogation, "In your own words, tell us what exactly happened out there."

Alex told her story, just the way she had told it to Sydney. After she was finished, Kendall stared at her, puzzled, almost as if he didn't believe her.

"What exactly were you up to at the time that the chase began?" he asked, eyeing her suspiciously.

"I was just coming back from the records department of City Hall."

"And why were you there?"

"I was looking for the records on my mother," was Alex's simple and yet forceful reply. She got the feeling that Kendall didn't believe her and that insulted her.

"Are you saying that your mother is desceased?"

"I don't know."

"What do you mean, you don't know?" Kendall forcefully interrogated.

"My mother left me at an orphanage in San Diego when I was a baby. All my life I wondered why she gave me up and whether she loved me or not. I've lived for fourteen years not knowing and I was tired of it. I hated the orphange anyway, so when I got the chance I ran away. I figured it would be easier to find her if I knew what she was doing now or where she lived." Alex replied, tears filling her eyes as she reflected on her past.

"And if you were from San Diego, why didn't you check there first?" asked Kendall.

"I did and the information didn't make sense. It said that she lived and died in Los Angeles for ten years before she died. It-it didn't make sense, so I had to come here and look at the records here to make sure that it wasn't a mistake, but the records were the same. It just doesn't make sense I mean I know I got the right Sylvia Camerendez. All the facts matched up, everything but that..." her voice drifted off and her eyes shone a combination of confusion and terror.

"Well, it is reasonable to believe that your mother could've died in the years that you were seperated from her."

"I know, I know. But that's not it," said Alex.

"Well what exactly is it?" asked Kendall, pressingly.

"She died," replied Alex in a distant whisper as she stared off into the air at nothing in particular.

"Yes, I believe we already specified that, Miss Camerendez," said Kendall rather irratably.

"No, I mean the records said she died... two weeks before I was born."
