Sydney Bristow, a woman of many talents, able to bottle up her emotions, kick someone’s a$$ in an instant. She was so strong, but as she sat there her head in her hands, Vaughn’s arm around her shoulder, she seemed so frail, she seemed like a totally different person. As she cried, Vaughn comforted her with soft whispers of support. Her phone rang and Vaughn quickly got up and answered it.
“Yeah, okay, I’ll tell her,” he said, he hung up the phone and went to her side again, “They found her, she’s in CIA custody. I don’t know if you want to go see her.”
There was a knock on the door, and they both looked up, Will stood at the door. Sydney quickly stood and there were in each others arms within seconds. Vaughn knew he shouldn’t be jealous, this was their relationship, they were there for each other, for support and love, best of friends. Will knew Sydney better than most people and Vaughn was happy Sydney had someone like that.
“Shhh, it’s going to be okay,” Will said to Sydney as her sobs grew louder.
“I have to go see her, whoever she is, I need to know who’s been living in my house for the last month, but I can’t go alone,” Sydney said as tears cascaded down her cheeks.
“I’ll go with you, if you want me too,” Vaughn said quietly.
She nods and breaks down once more crumpling to the ground, both Will and Vaughn run to her side and help her up.
“I can’t believe she’s dead, I can’t believe Francie is dead.,” she said obvious hurt in her voice, “this can’t be happening, she was my only link to the real world, my rock.”
“Sydney, I don’t know what to say,” Vaughn said.
“You don’t need to say anything, just stay with me, I just need you with me right now. We should go, I have some unfinished business to do.”
Vaughn leads her out of the house and takes her to where the Francie double was being held. Syd composes herself and walks down the hall, First my mother, now this, she thinks to herself. She finds the Francie look-alike sitting on the steel bed, an emotionless look in her eyes.
“Who are you?” Sydney asks.
Vaughn stands close to her.
“You know if I hadn’t had to send that tape to Sloane, I could have sold it for big bucks, you two have stamina,” she said.
Sydney slams her hand on the glass divider, “Who the hell are you, you b*tch?”
“No need to be angry.”
“You killed my best friend, you spied on me during personal moments, times only meant for me, there is a need to be angry.”
“Now, now.”
Sydney turns around, Vaughn close behind her, “I’m through with the prisoner,” she says, close to tears.
