Sydney Bristow is the main Character on Alias. Depending on if you're a Vaughn obsessant, like me. Then Vaughn's the main character. Anyway...

Sydney was recruited by a black ops division of the CIA, called SD-6, seven years ago. Or rather she thought she was. After she told her fiance, Danny Hecht about her real occupation, SD-6 had him killed. Jack Bristow, her father, told her that SD-6 was not CIA, but a branch of the Alliance, a group of, well, bad guys, there's no other way to describe them.

So, Sydney became a double agent for the CIA. Her handler was Michael Vaughn. He was the only person that she could be completely honest with, because of her double agent status. Eventually, they fell in love, but because of protocal and Kendall the ass, couldn't do anything about their feelings.

Sydney's mother, who she believed died when she was 6, was Irina Derevko. Irina murdered Vaughn's father. Confusing right? How are they going to explain that to their children???

Sydney and Vaughn didn't progress in their relationship until the downfall of SD-6. Like two seconds after the downfall of SD-6. Then they kissed, and the relationship has progressed from there.
