With the year winding down, the Dally M Board has announced the winners of the awards at a glamarous night attended by many of the game's stars.

Brett Hodgson collected the fullback of the year. Despite the form of Darren Lockyer, Robbie Ross and Kris Radlinski, Hodgson's consistency paid off.

Winger of the year went to Pat Richards , a surprise to everyone in the game, who had other players ahead of the young winger.

The centre of the year was given to Michael DeVere , the second award to the Hobart Devils.

Five/Eighth of the year found the deserving hands of Michael Beuttener , who was an inspiration for the battling Vikings club.

Halfback of the year was given to Andrew Johns , which was little surprise to football fans around the country.

Prop of the year was rightly handed to Scott Logan , who had a poor end of season, but set his award up with a stellar start to the year at Canberra.

Ben Walker got hooker of the year after a stellar year for the Ferrets.

Second row of the year went to Richard Peleasina , the big North Melbourne forward who had impressed all year.
