Title: What did you learn from Week 1 of the NRL?

Write about any game, except your own teams one, as bias can come into play.

Newcastle game showed that the Gidley boys have woken up from their 2005 slumber and will make an impact in 2006. Good things from the Eels in the first half. They will certaintly improve.

Did not take any notice of the Dogs V Panthers game.

Manly still have no penetration from their backs. Canberra look very keen and refreshed.

Did not take any notice of the Storm V Warriors game.

Roosters will be back into top gear in 2006. Souths depth is a grave concern.

Cowboys look even better than the 2004 and 2005 teams. A HUGE threat for the title. Broncos look like they did in 2004/2005, except even more devoid of fresh ideas. I can't see that mob making the top 4.

We only get two televised games on UK tv but I saw the Cowboys. They looked excellent, even better than last year. Broncs looked very lethargic and will need to improve a lot to make any ompression. Maybe move Lockyer to fullback.

Its only week 1, get rid of the rustiness, might be a different story.

everyone but the cowboys didnt look ready to play. Tigers vs dragons was the worst game id ever seen until the very next game, the next day and it just got worse as the weekend went on.

Since I know you didn't see Knights vs. Eels, I'll assume you were talking about Dogs/Panthers :-p

Cowboys look like the team to beat on form, and Brisbane need to do a cleanout. They're too old and stuck in the late nineties. Souths will again be hopeless and the Warriors don't look all that bad.

Penrith showed they have their heart back and looked a lot fitter despite not losing much size. They also showed they have depth...with Hookey looking good on the wing and Stapleton having a really good game aside from that bullshit sinbinning.

I learnt Sean Hampsted likes to fuck the Bulldogs over

Big Mick - March 14, 2006 12:37 AM (GMT)
LMAO...Corey Hughes screwed over the Bulldogs...noone else.

Decisions went both ways...Stapleton's sin-binning was bullshit...Hughes knocked the ball on the play prior and should have been Penrith's ball. Instead Stapleton gets sin-binned and Dogs score.

The scoreline flattered them.
