Today, canberra raiders released a statement saying that they feel they have the financial backing to tempt Jamie Lyon back to oz in 2007....
Also some friendly results,
Widnes 6
St. Helens 70
Debut tries for Francis Meli2, and Leon Pryce who was at the hub of everything saints did, Jason Cayless also made his debut in what looked like a powerful, dynamic slimline saints team.
Leeds 28
Harlequins18
The former london broncos team nearly stole the show as Tommy Leulaei and Luke Dorn both had special games, but a Jamie Peacock inspired leeds stole the game with two tries in the last 10mins.
There is not a team in either NRL or ESL that would not find some money for J Lyon.
It was not till he went missing that Gasiner and Cooper got a look in for the Rep sides.
I still think he is the best centre running around.

thanks for that, when millward signed jamie , he stated he would be st helens biggest signing since meninga, he was right, dont know how much coverage you get of super league in oz, but the man was dynamite on the pitch last season, and a decent bloke off it as well.
Already receiving legend status at st helens.
p.s. how is the big man(meninga), still get starstruck when somebody mentions his name and i am 30. Grew up watching him, the man is a legend.......

I hear that Jamie is most likley be at Manly next season.
He was looking at Gold Coast but apprantly told them no already.
Mal was great but I always considered Gene Miles a better player. Not as big or strong but IMO was a much better defender and had more skills to set up his winger.

heard that jamie fancies manly quite a bit because crusher cleal is still involved with them, and he discovered jamie, so that could be his 1st choice...
