Balmain Storm vs Glen Innes Magpies

Glen Innes showed the flair of their backline today in their demolition of the Storm. Lett was sensational in a three try performance while captain Kirk managed a double. Two disallowed tries made the task harder for the Storm but the Magpies were deserving winners.

Cairns White Pointers vs North West Kookaburras

In a tough clash on the border of the top eight the Kookaburras have solidified their position with a win over the ninth placed White pointers. Only goalkicking seperated the two sides but Martin undoubtedly had the tougher task with both tries being scored out wide. Cairns should have done better from the mountain of penalties they received and the Kookaburras will look to take their streak to eight next week.

In the clash of 2nd vs 4th the Wizards puled off a gritty away win over the Highrollers yesterday. Despite being on the better end of a 10:5 penaltycount the Highrollers were unable to dint the scoreboard while the Wizards managed three stylish tries from their backs.

The NT Lions pulled off a surprise victory over the 6th placed Jets today. Most of the Lions go forward came from Andrew Price who was almost unstoppable for 70 minutes as he put in a Man of the match performance. Brock James directed traffic well from 5/8.

Wodonga Badgers vs Port Kembla Voodoo

Port Kembla put in a strong performance today to beat the uncoached badgers side. Botham was outstanding on the wing scoring two tries and doing plenty in defense to take the 3 POMs. The intimidating Voodoo defense easily held the Badgers at bay. And the Wodonga side must be desperate for a coach after two successive weeks without threatening to cross the line. Their ailing attack must be addressed if they are to avoid the wooden spoon.
