Title: Incentives for coaches of rep players

Every season, coaches whinge when their players are chosen for rep duty. In real life, clubs love it as it brings sponsorship and crowds to the clubs games. It gives the club good press.
I feel that ASRL coaches should feel good about it too.

My suggestion is that if a player plays all games in an origin series or all eligible games in the tri-nations, the coaches of those players should be rewarded.

The reward should be a one year extension of their current contract. Most rep players tend to stay with the club that helped to get them there.

i disagree. its elitist and will only strengthen an already orange yolk.

Maybe if they play for one of the Tri-Nation teams, perhaps

When it comes down to rep coaches and their own club, they need to give proof why they are there... otherwise, I could just call up a shitload of GB players so I could get the extra contract.

In saying that, it doesn't always work in your favour, so watch out. Also, a player who is picked for rep, is going to command more money from his club

I had this idea the other day...but maybe there is free physio points during the SOO series.

For example...say a play I want picked for SOO is out for 1 week. As a coach i can physio him up so he is right to play, but also he'll be right to play for the club as well...and the club doesn't incur that charge. I think thats a good benefit.

the club does get compensated for injuries in rep games (well they use to anyway)

And players with one week injuries can still be selected for Origin, as the Origin side automatically heals all one week injuries prior to play.

Maybe a payment to the club for the players services?

But the money seesm to mean little so those sides want get any huge benefit from it anyway.

There used to be a 20 (25?)K bonus to clubs for each player/round they've lost a team to a rep game.

I was unaware it no longer ran.
