Title: NSW Coaching Position Available
chriswalkerbush - October 7, 2005 06:24 AM (GMT)
I'm currently looking for a coach for the NSW State of Origin side. As you know, Anthony Magro retired following last year's series loss, and whilst Brian Randell was announced as his successor - his lack of activity rules him out.
If you're interested, leave a message here as well as your credentials for the position.

I think Hussey should be given the gig :D
chriswalkerbush - October 7, 2005 07:48 AM (GMT)
You're a sick, sick man.
Why would we give the job to a guy who has only won two games all year? :P
thewizard1o1 - October 7, 2005 08:10 AM (GMT)
It’s just his drive and enthusiasm for all things New South Wales suit him to a 't' for this position....

As a coach that has a side that most think will struggle to be competative in Darwin and has them mixing it with the best I have the ability to get the post out of the players.
Also as a board member my commitment to ASRL is very strong and NSW should have a coach with both passion and commitment to not only rugbly league, New South Wales but also the ASRL.
With that in mind all others need not apply!

I vote for BigMick
because I'm a Queenslander and the fact that Capetown have only won two games
or better yet the Geelong coach he's only won one game in first division :P
Just remembers that Geelong beat his team :stooge:

I am sick and tired of losing to you in ASRL. You have an inferior side on paper, yet you continue to jag wins out of me.
Marshal, what you fail to see is that coaching rep sides is a whole new ballgame. I am the only QLD coach to ever win a series. My win was built on courage, skill and pride. These are the qualities that New South Welshmen don't possess.
So Marshal, come up and have a shot at the title. Club football is nothing compared to state pride.
We know who will come off second best!!!

Im probably not qualified but id be interested in coaching NSW.
In terms of qualifications.
1st season.
Pretty poor start to the season which i will call a learning experience. In my last ten or so games i managed to rise from close to last place and miss the eight narrowly. The Harlequins were the last team to beat the eventual premiers in the Wyrms for that season and also managed some wins against other finallists on the run towards the finals.
Second season.
I recruited pretty well for the season and managed to lose both the grand final and minor premiership to the Mavericks (who had relegated the previous season and had a good side at the time). I got coach of the season for division 2 this year.
Third season
I had to withdraw last season due to having no access to the internet. I had my best team so far and from memory i was somewhere around thrid overall on the ladder when i quit and second in the more competitive tier of division two when i quit.
This season
I won three BFC games this season and managed to scrape three wins together in premier league with a team that still acheives the salary cap for division two.
Aside from that i have no rep coaching as randall returned seemingly only to steal the German side from me when internationals rolled around for the last two years :randell:
I am a fairly big contributor to the ASRL in terms of articles and i think my tendency towards writing articles would promote NSW for this series quite well. Apart from that i cant hink of anything else that might qualify me for the job.

Two points
- i would like to see a pic of hussey and bushy (but not roger) in a two piece bikini before winners are declared.
-i will lend my support to whichever coach who will support George Carmont as the new NSW outside centre or prop forward. Like God, he is above the groupings of human kind but takes pity on NSW.
PJ_Marshal - October 12, 2005 01:23 PM (GMT)
george carmont, bringing afl size pants to league

oi! i'll have you know that that is now two wins in a row, away from home, against sides in the top eight and predicted to fight for promotion....ive got my second home game of the season coming up, so i hopefully will make it three on the trot :D
