how is change in stats going to effect player salarys. as they have contracts, wont that mean that the salary will always be the same, no matter the stat change, until there contract is up for renewal or finished?
Yeah, that's how it'll work. This way you're rewarded for tying down guys who are likely to improve by having their salary stay low as long as they're not on the market. Likewise, you're punished for tying a sinking ship down to a five year deal.
I am not 100% sure about this new contract system yet - but of course I will give it time to see if it works or not - but I do think this aspect will be one of the best things about it. As you say, its a cracking reward to give someone a longer contract and then find their stats - bot not their wages - increase dramatically!
One other question though - say I have someone on a four-year contract, and trade him to another team. Will that team have to at least match the length of the contract he had with me?
Yes, in the case of trades, the new team must accept the current contract of the player (both in terms of money and contract length).
