leon botts a 9,7 lol

Yah I found that funny too

PJ_Marshal - September 18, 2005 01:28 PM (GMT)
leon botts got as much potential as joven clarke

westspanthers - September 19, 2005 02:44 AM (GMT)
Magro and PJ just look at the stats, they stack up in favour of him especially being a rookie and only being 18 years old. Let's compare with some of the best wingers shall we:

Leon Bott 13 tries, averages 74.7 metres made a game. 3.8 tackles made 1.1 missed.

Amos Roberts 17 tries, averages 84.5 metres, 4.4 tackles with 2.8 missed.

Matt Utai 6 tries, avg 113 metres, 3.4 tackles with 1.8 missed.

Matt Sing 15 tries, avg 73.8 metres, 7.6 tackles with 1.2 missed.

Ty Williams 17 tries, 109.3 metres, 5.6 tackles 1.4 missed.

Eric Grothe 15 tries, 124 metres, 3.6 tackles, 1.2 missed.

Luke Burt 11 tries, 72.6 metres, 2.5 tackles, 1 missed.

Luke Rooney 6 tries, 84 metres, 4.6 tackles, 1.2 missed.

Luke Lewis 12 tries, 80.1 metres, 8.1 tackles, 3 missed.

Scott Donald 9 tries, 73.6 metres, 3.8 tackles, 0.9 missed.

Chris Hicks 9 tries, 73.4 metres, 2.6 tackles, 1.4 missed.

Luke Covell 9 tries, 64 metres, 4.9 tackles, 2.4 missed.

David Simmons 16 tries, 93.8 metres, 3.2 tackles, 2 missed.

The stats don't lie, he is up there with them if not on top of alot of them, with more tries, less missed tackles and more tackles. He is only 18 and has alot more years in him and with the stats evidence his 9,7 is proven. So the next Joven Clarke comment is effectively shut down! The only thing he has against is is he is short, but so is Matt Utai and giving Bott time to develop and get more strength as he is still only 18 and is his 1st year in 1st grade he is only going to get bigger and better!

douglasallen19 - September 19, 2005 04:04 AM (GMT)
the only thing that is important about bott is that when hodges came back he took his spot and not minto's

westspanthers - September 19, 2005 05:17 AM (GMT)
Minto has been going well, he had a great game against Wests as well. Plus he has a definate height advantage. Actually going on stats Minto stacks up very well compared to the top wingers.

16 games, 7 Tries, 95.8 Metres a game on average. 4.4 tackles made with 1.3 missed. He's going better then Rooney this year and has made 4 less appearances and scored more tries hahahaha

MrCharisma - September 19, 2005 05:56 AM (GMT)
Minto is only playing first grade because he is Wayne Bennetts son

westspanthers - September 19, 2005 06:37 AM (GMT)
haha and don't you wish you had looks like him as well Magro! :P

PJ_Marshal - September 20, 2005 06:12 AM (GMT)
ben smith is only 7,7 and he is much better than bott

westspanthers - September 20, 2005 07:42 AM (GMT)
Yeah but he came in later then Bott and only really came good after stats were done. He will go up, but they are totally different players, one is a strong centre the other is a super fast winger. You may as well be saying Shane Webcke is a better player then Luke Burt, both different players in different positions.

DJMaC - September 20, 2005 08:13 AM (GMT)
Minto sucks wang.

westspanthers - September 20, 2005 08:15 AM (GMT)
So do you but you don't hear Minto going around saying you do :D

chriswalkerbush - September 20, 2005 08:16 AM (GMT)
Bott - one of the game's top wingers....

Yeah, and Magro has a killer side-step

westspanthers - September 20, 2005 08:24 AM (GMT)
stats don't lie Chris :) shame he can't be one of those fantastic Knights wingers :P geez it must have been hard for them to get a spot! Look at the stats on them, they'll tell you the same thing that Bott is better then them ;) Remember he is only 18, NRL is his 1st go at senior footy and he is still in school, imagine what he could become when he has a full off season with the senior team as well as being out of school and being able to concentrate on being a full time footballer.

chriswalkerbush - September 20, 2005 08:38 AM (GMT)
You mean like Brian Carney, the world's best winger? Yeah, it is a shame.

Stats don't lie, Hussey - you're the biggest whinger on the forum. ;)

westspanthers - September 20, 2005 09:14 AM (GMT)
1. Carney is not there til next year you fool and he is only going there because the Gold Coast is not in until the year after. Therefore he is not a winger at Newcastle he is still playing for Wigan so in my book that would make him a Warrior until next year

2. How is whinging got anything to do with a point? Just because you got totally and utterly shut down, you have to come up with a stupid statement like that because you don't have a decent point to make after one of your useless statements. Still trying to work out how Stats don't lie statement having anything to do with me aparently being the biggest whinger on the board. Shame we all can't run the competition to suit ourselves, very very interesting to see how Andrew Johns was a 9,8 when the stats were settled and aparently could not be moved but now he is back at the Gold Coast he is suddenly 10,8. Must be that funny sim changing it hey haha ;)

chriswalkerbush - September 20, 2005 09:19 AM (GMT)
Hussey - this is one of those moments where you need to pause a moment, pull your head out of your arse, take your hand of your cock, and think before you speak.

Talk to Doug - Joey was a 10/8 over at Wellington, and I had to cut a deal for him at that value. You can also ask Roger and Magro, who were involved in his re-rating after NSW bent QLD over and raped them in this year's Origin series.

Your conspiracy theories are typical of a Queenslander. What was your excuse for Brisbane crashing out of the finals and QLD showing their usual lack of heart this year?

westspanthers - September 20, 2005 09:29 AM (GMT)
haha Chris you really should not talk the total lack of pussy you have got your entire life would spell you have long sessions in your room with a bottle of hand lotion and your trusty right hand.

There is no conspiracy theories Chris, you know you do things to help you own cause. I get a warning for things I say yet when you made a racial slur about jews when talking about JD nothing was done.

Mate have a look where Brisbane finished, at least we had a shot at the finals! Who got the wooden spoon? Thats right your shitty little knights hahahahaha maybe you can use that as a little toy cos god knows you've had just about everything else up your ass

Watch my form drop now with Brisbane everyone. Everytime I say nothing I go well, as soon as I speak out them my form mysteriously goes south haha

Now lets, get this post back to being about the trades rather then everyone having there 5 cents worth.

chriswalkerbush - September 20, 2005 09:36 AM (GMT)
Watch your form drop? Haven't you only one the two games all year as it is? There's nothing I can do to you that you haven't been doing to the Bulls since you took over.

chriswalkerbush - September 20, 2005 09:44 AM (GMT)
Apologies, it was three games all year. My mistake
