Title: Stadiums

chriswalkerbush - September 19, 2005 09:34 AM (GMT)
Can everyone list their club's home stadium here. If you can't find one, check out http://www.worldstadiums.com

In the case of sides with fictional/previously upgraded stadiums, feel free to post your stadium and its current capacity. For the remainder of clubs, simply post your stadium name and its current capacity.

Ill take Telstra stadium if available, if not ill have any of the following. Starting from my highest preference, The SCG, Aussie stadium, or Henson Park.

chriswalkerbush - September 19, 2005 10:27 AM (GMT)
Two things:
Chris -Your stadium is not that big. You never paid to get it made that large, so I'll go with 40'000 as the Slam Pit's current capacity.
Al - Telstra is Sydney's home ground, but I'll give Hornsby the SCG

Big Mick - September 19, 2005 11:23 AM (GMT)
Capetown - Newlands Stadium - Capacity 55,000

bumper_benny - September 19, 2005 11:46 AM (GMT)
MCG- capacity of 97 474

Padds - September 19, 2005 04:03 PM (GMT)
Hobart Oval unknown - say 50,000

chriswalkerbush - September 19, 2005 04:20 PM (GMT)
Don't want to break your heart, Padds - but the best you can hope for in Tasmania is:
Bellrive Oval in Hobart (19,000)
or if you're representing Launceston
Aurora Stadium (19,891)

G8 A Raid - September 19, 2005 07:36 PM (GMT)
Christchurch will of course take Jade Stadium, capacity: 36,500

I wanted to keep a side in Tasmania but Prem sides cannot survive on crowds of 19,000

chriswalkerbush - September 20, 2005 11:52 AM (GMT)
Well, you can always upgrade your stadium. The population in Hobart is enough to support fairly solid crowds.

What is the cost of upgrades???

Is it done at the start/end of the season???

chriswalkerbush - September 20, 2005 12:06 PM (GMT)
Costing on upgrades would need to be sorted out when we re-devised the system. Can't offer you anything substantial at the moment, but they'd be able to be done anytime during the season.

Geelong will use Skilled Stadium, capacity 28,300

Cake or Death - September 25, 2005 06:57 AM (GMT)
...sounds like Wagga is going to be up the proverbial creek without a paddle, given Eric Weissel Oval (real name - Beebopareebop Park for ASRL purposes) has been cited in the NSW Hansard as having a capacity of only 10,000...

...ah well, I may have to move anyway <sigh>....

destructors - September 25, 2005 10:41 AM (GMT)
Wollongong Destructors home ground is... Win Stadium and as said is 31,000 after my upgrades were done... boo yeh

A minimum stadia size required for a decent Prem side - any suggestions as to what I should shop for, as I don't think 10k will do even for D2?

Padds - September 25, 2005 12:58 PM (GMT)
The way things are going, Theo, you might be looking for a decent sized ground for a Div 2 side

chriswalkerbush - September 25, 2005 01:27 PM (GMT)
Ooooh! That was harsh, Padds, hehe.

As I said on MSN, you'd want at least 25,000 to be viable.

mickyj - February 16, 2006 03:43 AM (GMT)
Can we sort out the upgrade costs before this season is over so we can upgrade withy any money left over form this season?

chriswalkerbush - February 16, 2006 06:40 AM (GMT)
The new finance system will need to be hashed out properly over the off-season
