Title: Still want in?

Schmo - September 12, 2005 09:03 AM (GMT)
Before I start next season, I have to determine who is still in for it.
Post below if you want to play next season.

chriswalkerbush - September 12, 2005 09:13 AM (GMT)
Count me in. I want to get recruiting for my premiership defence :P

trognierrrr - September 12, 2005 10:02 AM (GMT)
Im definately keen

roosters05 - September 12, 2005 01:37 PM (GMT)
i'd be keen to have a crack at this...what exactly is involved?

chriswalkerbush - September 12, 2005 02:26 PM (GMT)
It's pretty similar to the ASRL, except it's cricket and there's not all of the 'extra' stuff. Just get your side in each week.

I won last year, and I'm useless! :D

douglasallen19 - September 12, 2005 10:19 PM (GMT)
minor premiers are in.

eastspumas - September 13, 2005 02:22 AM (GMT)

Big Mick - September 16, 2005 05:02 AM (GMT)

Big Mick - September 16, 2005 05:36 AM (GMT)
So what teams are available

douglasallen19 - September 17, 2005 12:39 AM (GMT)
QUOTE (Big Mick @ Sep 16 2005, 03:36 PM)
So what teams are available

old teams will keep their players from last season (having to release some players - hasn't been said how), new teams will get first go at the player pool (kevin pieterson still available i am 90% sure.)

we haven't chosen where each team is going to based yet.

Schmo - September 18, 2005 11:41 AM (GMT)
OK pool is complete as of today.
That is correct, last seasons teams will keep their players from last season, and new teams have first go at the players pool, and any teams that had a coach last season and they are not coaches this season, their players will be returned to the pool also.
Yeah Richard will play, his username im sure is Blamesociety.
Before we get into the players pool and fill our teams, we gotta decide first where we are going to represent. There will be 10 teams, and there are 14 places to represent, so we all should go ok.
Remember when you are placing your bids for where you want to represent, look
at the team you have already, remembering you need at least 4 players from the state/country you represent. Also remember if bidding on an ING team, you have to play 2 ING players each season, but can play up to 4 also to fill your quota fully.
Right now im going to edit the Yahoo groups to include new coaches and boot older coaches.
So start thinking about who you want to be, ill be posting updates tomorrow.

Schmo - September 18, 2005 12:00 PM (GMT)
Cake or Death interested? I can't see a post here, unless he has told you Chris.

chriswalkerbush - September 18, 2005 01:20 PM (GMT)
Yeah, he mentioned that he still wanted to play. Cricket is his first love, after all

douglasallen19 - September 18, 2005 10:48 PM (GMT)
are we choosing which teams we going to represent by pm (which i prefer) or where everyone can see.

hessy - September 19, 2005 05:10 AM (GMT)
i'm interested if there's still places available

Schmo - September 19, 2005 12:15 PM (GMT)
Yeah sure there is still places, I can have up to 14.
Choices will be emailed to me, and ill email Chris mine, so we all know I dont put in bads last after you all have your in.
Is everyone in favour of the 100 point system? It was the best way I could think of to do it fairly.
Cake of Death is Theo right?

chriswalkerbush - September 19, 2005 12:18 PM (GMT)
Yeah, CorD is Theo. When do you want us to start emailling our preferences in?

Schmo - September 19, 2005 12:24 PM (GMT)
I wouldn't do it straight away, Id do it after I release the player pool, which should be Tomorrow night, that way you can see what players you have from where and weigh up where you want to bid for.
I just wanna get everyone in the Yahoo group also, that should be sorted by tomorrow night also, that way everyone can look at the player pool at the same time.
LOL at my typo, Cake of Death, I think Burns made Smithers one of them, the one where he pickled the figs himself. Funny stuff.

douglasallen19 - September 19, 2005 11:57 PM (GMT)
so only postive numbers that can be used. hehe not like
iceland 300
zimbabwe -100
usa -100

Schmo - September 20, 2005 08:19 AM (GMT)
Spot on, positive numbers only.
lol I like your selection of Iceland, you wouldn't have too many rivals there for bidding.

Schmo - September 20, 2005 12:03 PM (GMT)
OK everybody now should be part of the Yahoo groups, or at least have an invite.
Let me know if you are not in it or have not been invited.
I have uploaded the player pool onto the Groups page.
Players from last season, your name is next to your players. If a player you had last season is not there now, they have either retired or are no longer active in international cricket.
Ill give a few days for all of you to look over the pool and decide which country/state you want to bid for, and then we will bid and then new teams will pick their sides and then all teams will ber able to access the pool after new teams are satisfied with their sides.
Any new coaches, its probably a good idea to read the rules also while you get the player pool.

mickyj - September 20, 2005 12:51 PM (GMT)
I asked before if i can join in a different thread.

Schmo - September 20, 2005 01:13 PM (GMT)
Gee, sorry dude, I didn't seeit.
PM me your email, and ill add you to the groups.

Rowland

well iceland would do better than zimbabwe.

douglasallen19 - September 21, 2005 01:58 AM (GMT)
dammit it, the stats was doen before the nz, india and zimabwe tri series.

still bond will take you's all out.

only one retirement for the bushwackers with rashan kaliwitharana retiring.
with two at least likely to be shown the door with a third maybe, talks with jason gillespie still happening.

Big Mick - September 21, 2005 02:55 AM (GMT)
Is that all the players...in the player pool?

I scrapped the bottom of the barrell and could only come up with 1 decent team ... and I still think it'd get hammered.

Schmo - September 21, 2005 12:29 PM (GMT)
Yep, thats the pool. Do we think I need to add some retired people to up the numbers? I could prolly easily add 30-40 players.
Remember, a bastman listed as an opener doesn't have to bat number 1, basically a players position does not really matter, you could open with McGrath and Murali if you wanted to.
You should be able to get some decent players out of all the players listed.
Remember, in the seasons to come, talent will spread out, because you will have priority to your countries/states new players.
Its also probably a good idea to not send me in your country/state pick yet, as I have not decided myself, and so im not reading any I have yet.

douglasallen19 - September 22, 2005 01:01 AM (GMT)
is their going to be any trading before the season starts.

Schmo - September 22, 2005 10:28 AM (GMT)
Sure will be.

Padds - September 22, 2005 10:57 AM (GMT)
If theres any places left I'll join in

Schmo - September 22, 2005 12:13 PM (GMT)
Not a problem, just pm me your email and ill add you too the yahoo group. I notice there are still only 8 poeple in the group, please contact me if you have not yet got an invitation, and ill send you one.
Im thinking ill have to bring back some players that I cut because we are getting more coaches which is good.

douglasallen19 - September 22, 2005 09:50 PM (GMT)
cough gillespie or gayle will be on the trading block after a wicket keeper cough

Schmo - September 23, 2005 08:10 AM (GMT)
Ok pretty sure these guys are not part of the group yet.
If anyone knows them on MSN etc could you make them aware that I need their email address to add them so we can get things going.
roosters05
pennywisealfie
CorD
mickyj
They are the people i figure are not yet in the group. I have sent them all invites, but dunno why they have not responded.

With more people joining, I have decided to bring back some players that are either retired or who have been dropped from national selection. Ill be bringing back probably 40-50 players if I can, more if possible so we can get good teams in the comp with good players. So over the weekend hopefully Ill be adding a heap of players to the pool and will be rereleasing it ASAP.

Padds - September 23, 2005 08:39 AM (GMT)
How do new players get teams???

Schmo - September 23, 2005 12:04 PM (GMT)
An online draft will be held for all the new coaches, and you will pick 3 players at a time, and thenit will go back up the list until everybody has a full squad.
Remember, you need a keeper in your side, and a maximum of 2 keepers.
You also need at least 5 players with bowling stats in each team each week too.

sorry mate! i was in Melbourne from Tuesday last week and only just got back today - ive joined it now though :D any idea of when the draft is going to be?

Schmo - September 25, 2005 11:26 AM (GMT)
Yeah, just putting the finishing touches on the new Players Pool now.
We will pick our countries/states, and then the draft will be done, so if all goes well, within the next fortnight. I say firtnight, because im away all next weekend, and wont have a chance to do anything.
But this week the new player pool will be out at the least, and we can start the bidding process.

Padds - September 25, 2005 01:05 PM (GMT)
How does the bidding process work???
