chriswalkerbush - September 6, 2005 05:52 AM (GMT)
1. Clinton Schifcofske (Canberra Raiders)
2. Amos Roberts (Sydney Roosters)
3. Ryan Cross (Sydney Roosters)
4. Reni Maitua (Bulldogs)
5. Shannon Hegarty (South Sydney Rabbitohs)
6. Braith Anasta (Bulldogs)
7. Brett Finch (Sydney Roosters)
8. Ben Ross (Penrith Panthers)
9. Luke Priddis (Penrith Panthers)
10. Steve Price (New Zealand Warriors)
11. Luke Ricketson © (Sydney Roosters)
12. Clint Newton (Newcastle Knights)
13. Ashley Harrison (South Sydney Rabbitohs)
14. Kurt Gidley (Newcastle Knights)
15. John Sutton (South Sydney Rabbitohs)
16. Chris Flannery (Sydney Roosters)
17. Anthony Tupou (Sydney Roosters)
Methinks Sticky Ricky had a whisper to selectors about getting Finch a run next to his future halves' partner. There's no way he got selected on form.

Presidents XVII? We have a Prime Minister haha it is the Prime Minister's XIII or 13 not the President's XVII or 17. It is done on teams that were knocked out, I would personally have thought Gower would have been in there but out of the rest them who else is up with Finch's standard? Look at what there was: Ben Walker at South's, Todd Carney at the Raider's, Corey Hughes at the Doggies, even though Finch is not even in the greatest form he would top the list of those blokes besides Gower. Maybe Preston Campbell could have filled in at Halfback. There must be something wrong with Gower for Finch to get a nod over him, but when you look at the rest of the list besides Gower there is not much to go by really.

There's seventeen playing, so I'll call it the Prime Minister's Seventeen if I want. It's not like cricket, where the only 'bench' is the twelfth man. All seventeen guys'll play. Are you saying the four benchies don't get the cap? :P

How the hell Minichello didn't get picked is beyond me - he was in by far better form than schifcofske....he's an absolute pinball when it comes to taking tackles, and his kick return is awesome...there's a reason why he was the player of the series in the SOO series you know!

Yeah but Mini will be a certainty in the Aussie team, and they probably felt he did not need another game considering he's played 24 nrl games 3 origins and 1 test already.

LOL at Brett Finch.
If Preston isn't the best halfback out of the rest of the bunch outside the 8 I give up.

fair enough, but it makes a mockery of what they said this team was supposed to be about - "the best players from clubs not participating in the finals...."
And even being a roosters fan, i had to laugh when i saw Finch selected - there are certainly better options out there!

A potted plant is a better option than Da Finchi.
