With the ASRL season due to kick off any moment, sides were putting the final touches as they took to a second round of trial matches.

Surfers Paradise Punks Vs. Brisbane Bulls

The game started with fierce intensity as the two Queensland sides took the field with something to prove. A Wesser solo effect in the 2nd minute opened the flood gate to a try feast from both sides but when the smoke cleared, Surfers brought home the win with a 34-22 win.

Brisbane: Leon Bott , Chris Sheppard, Scott Prince, Cameron Smith. Hannay 3/4

Capetown Ravens Vs. Tasmanian Devils

Alarm bells are beginning to sound out in South Africa after the underdog Tasmanian Devils brought home a narrow but thrilling 26-20 victory. While Capetown coach Big Mick claims they didn’t take the game too seriously, Tasmanians all over… Tasmania are celebrating.

Tasmanian: Wes Davies, Richard Gerling, Nick Fozzard x2. Burke 5/6

Balmain Storm Vs. The Entrance Tigers

It was the start of a tense night as fans turned up to part one of the Magro Vs. Bosset saga. While the intensity was over flowing from the stadium, the discipline wasn’t as The Entrance leak a heavy 13 penalities against 3. While The Entrance pull a lucky 22-12 win, some of their players will face the judicary board after some careless decisions.

The Entrance: Jamie Frizzo, Chris Armit, Marvin Karwana, Trent Cutler. Dean 3/5
PoM: Chris Armit 3, Craig Emmerton 2, Marvin Karwana 1

Sydney Oilers Vs. Central Coast Falcons

It was a battle of the halves in the anticipated Oilers Vs. Falcons clash. The visitors came out with guns blazing and with some individual brillance from Brent Sherwin and then the entire backline, the Falcons lead 14-0 at the break. Some crafty work and solid defence saw the Oilers bite back with Gower and unknown superstar Pennywise Tupanga-anga but it was a leaked penality goal from the first half which saw the Oilers walk away empty handed with a 14-12 loss.

Sydney: Craig Gower, Pennywise Tupanga-anga. Tupanga-anga 2/2
Central Coast: Matt Utai, Brent Sherwin. El Masri 3/3

Adelaide Attitude Vs. Darwin Cyclones

It was a show of both attack and defence as two hopeful finalists in Darwin and Adelaide clashed. Neither side could find the white line in the first half with some spectaular last ditch defencive efforts while the second half turned out the white line fever. While all eyes were on the Adelaide halves combo, Adelaide lock-forward Sam Norton-Knight was able to weave the magic and snatch a 16-8 victory for the home side
