I was wondering the other day that seeing as the goverment has banned any p plated drivers from driving high powered vehicles...does that mean that the costs for third party should go down for us?
When I think of it, it makes perfect sense, in dropping p platers right to drive big cars they are supposedly making it safer for us. Well that would mean that our chances of having an accident would decrease and thats the only reason why we have to pay stupid amounts of money compared to older drivers. Just a thought.
I see your point & tend to agree with it. But P-platers tend to have more accidents with other drivers, so our premiums will always be high compared with other drivers. But a reduction of $100-200 in premiums wouldn't hurt, I suppose.
i think he was talking about green slips, but it may end up reducing premiums on insurance for younger drivers, but u will find that it would have to be a proven thing first, if there is say a 20% reduction on P Plate drivers having accidents over the next 2 years or so they may look into it, but i wouldnt expect anything to happen right away, i mean they are insurance company's and they love their money more than u do most likely.....also i tend to lean towards the fact that most young drivers who do drive high performance cars, have them registered and insured through their parents, which will also make reducing green slips and insurance premiums cheaper that much less likely.
Personally I think the high powered car restrictions are irrelevant and stupid. Rev heads will still find ways to crash their new Charade.
Third party should go down.
