Title: Want in?

Schmo - May 17, 2005 01:01 PM (GMT)
Hey people,
Next season Im looking to expand the ASCL out even further.
People that want to coach next season, post here, and ill make you a member of the yahoo group, and we will organise a team for next season.
Im looking to bring it up to 10 teams if I can, so 2 more teams, and the Souther Sharks taken over from me, and the Firebugs also, due to an inactive coach.
So at least 4 sposts up for grabs, 2 teams already established, both boasting great players.

Why not dissolve the two uncoached sides, so that everyone can have a shot at their talent? That'll let you create four new teams from scratch.

dunno if you wanted existing coaches to still say they are interested in their teams, nbut i am stil lstaying the coach of the minor premiership winner

Schmo - May 18, 2005 12:32 PM (GMT)
Well could coaches that are not interested in next season please post.
Im running another comp outside the ASRL, and if there are not enought poeple here, then I may merge the two together.
Please post if you are still into it.
I sure am still up for running it.

This meants Nath is out, unless he wants to coach again, in that case, he should post. What Nath up to, is he even in ASRL anymore?

We need to encourage more teams to come in to the comp, spread the word!!

chriswalkerbush - June 1, 2005 11:43 AM (GMT)
Nath's back in Dubbo, and working fulltime. He quit the ASRL after last season. I doubt we'll see him again. :(

OK Join me up I knows me Cricket

Any changes to how the game will work? How about each team choose either bat/bowl if they win the toss. e.g you say what u want to do when u send your team in. You might end up batting first on a perfect wicket, or on the other hand you might have chosen to bat first and the pitch turns out to be a shocker.

I'm not sure if that made sense, but yeh

Schmo - June 2, 2005 09:09 AM (GMT)
That makes perfect sense, problem is the sim chooses all that for you.
Next season Ill be intruducing pitches. Cerain pitches will be dull, other will turn, seam etc. Pitch reports will be posted prior to games being played, but they will not vary much, just like the WACA is always fast and bouncy, but it may vary a bit week to week. Pitches will be randomly generated.
Cool, thanks for coming aboard Brandell, any questions just email me.

...sign me up...

...now, if someone can teach me to play any shot besides a pull shot to/over the boundary :s

chriswalkerbush - June 2, 2005 11:13 PM (GMT)
I might be able to help you with that, Theo. I'm something of a local legend at the Glen Innes vs. Ben Lomond annual cricket match....

Of course, I'd be far more useful to you as a bowling instructor, lol. I hold the record for bowling figures in that particular event. :-)

Schmo - June 3, 2005 08:08 AM (GMT)
Sweet Theo, thanks for coming aboard.

Drunken Phantom - June 4, 2005 07:27 AM (GMT)
I wouldnt mind a team

Schmo - June 4, 2005 12:16 PM (GMT)
Excellent, we now have 9 individually coached teams.
Im aiming for 10 and eventually 14 in seasons to come, anyone else keen to take the last spot?
