Title: Unite the islands!

English coach Anthony Magro has called for a united Great Britain test side to compete in the Tri-Nations instead of the single England entity.

"I think we are denying some of the great players representitive football. Players like Brian Carney, Keiron Cunningham and Iyestn Harris are all top form players. Why not allow them and others, the oppotunity to play under a united Great Britain flag" said Magro

"Not only will this strengthen the current English side, making it Great Britain but it'd add an extra competitive edge to the Tri-Nations as well as improve the 'lesser' international sides. Not saying Ireland/Scotland/Wales are lesser sides but there seems to be a large gap on quality between 1-3 and 4."

"Example. Brian Carney (Ireland) is selected for Great Britain along side Tommy O'Reilly (Ireland). They would gain additional 2-3 rep games with of experience under their belts. The experience they gain could be brought back into their Irish side and strengthen their tactics and confidence."

"This isn't about taking over, it's about oppotunity. Ireland/Scotland/Wales would still function for Internationals friendlies and World Cups as independant countries. I'm in no way looking to lure players either. I'm hoping we can bridge some of the rep sides."

"To be fair, I've had to call up R.S.C players to represet their countries. While they are still quality players, we have guys like Iyestn Harris, Simon Taylor, Brian Carney and Keiron Cunningha, who are all playing great footy in the Premier League who could be utalised. Currently they are getting a few rep games a year? Allow them to be selected to compete and I guranette you will see a difference in the years ahead.

In all fairness if there was to be a bridging of the sides, a new coach would need to be appointed. For the good of the game.
