Title: Lebanon Fire Up

MrCharisma - March 24, 2005 02:12 AM (GMT)
Lebanese Rugby League is already gearing up for preperations for the 2005 World Cup, with new faces and a new attitude.

The biggest new player causing a stir is 'Ricardo' who has told Lebanon coach Anthony Magro of his true bloodline- Lebanese!

"Late one night I recieved a phone call from Ricardo which was a shock to my system. This was just after a contract were signed with Marc Calderwood so I thought he might be personally asking for an oppotunity with Central Coast. Anyway he proceeded to backdate his family history before finally letting me know his last name. It was El Masi, I couldn't believe what I was hearing. Hazem, Wissam or Samer never told me they had another relative who could play" said Magro.

"What I found out later was that Hazem and Wissam's father had actually had another child with his 2nd wife which came in the form of Ricardo. So really this match against Malta will be a form of reunion for the distant family" said Magro.

"I've done some backtracking and found as many players who could play under the Lebanese banner. I've fledged a side for our trial against Malta and I predict it to be an interesting match in the lead up to the World Cup." said Magro
