Brian Randell, The Coach of the Country team called a media conference today to talk of his disgust and retire from his coaching duties after the New South Wales side was named without Ben Kennedy.

"When the annual fixture was announced NSW coach Magro, announced the list of certainties who could not play in the game due to already being picked in the team. Kennedy was picked in the list of certainties already guarenteed a spot in the Origin one side. But where is he now?? Not there. But Scott Magro the now chosen lock who had an amazing 22 POMS was able to play in the game and also took Kennedy's spot in the NSW side. I want a decent explanation as to why you would name him as a certainty and then throw him out like trash. He is not injured and in good form. All I can say is that in the City Vs Country game his skills would have been greatly appreciated, and that it is a great injustice that you have done this."

You were sacked as a result of losing, so no need to retire. ;-)
