QLD coach, Roger Bossert has announced a squad of certainties for the first State of Origin match. There are still some spots up for grabs, but the players named have their spots assured.
Roger Bossert made some suprise inclusions and omissions.
The ultimate suprise inclusion has been the recall of Qld veteran, Sean Towers, into the halfback role. It has been many years since he has put on the maroon jersey, but after some outstanding displays for Canberra, he deserves his shot at redemption. Congratulations to Luke Williamson and Casey Macguire, who will be making their debuts for Queensland.
A large fall from grace for Elton Flatley. He was considered an Origin certainty before the season started after his heroic efforts for Qld last season. Adelaide's poor form has contributed to his demise.
A centre, two prop, lock and three bench positions are up for grabs. The result of the performances of the contenders in Round 13 matches will have a huge bearing on the selection table.
