The ASRL and WRLF (World Rugby League Federation) have announced today that a World Cup will definitely take place at the conclusion of the current ASRL season.
The last World Cup was an immense success, with Australia defeating the surprising Irish Wolfhounds in a thrilling final.
"The last tournament saw the emergence of a number of competitive nations. Ireland, South Africa, and Fiji all performed well above expectations and made it a cosmopolitan and exciting tournament. This year we're looking to expand the tournament to include twenty sides, including newcomers such as Malta, Greece, Italy, the West Indies, and possibly Portugal".
