Title: BFC Quarter Finals

chriswalkerbush - December 18, 2004 12:56 PM (GMT)
Three Premier League sides will be fighting for places in the 2005 Bob Fulton Cup final after a round of predictable wins from the big guns, with Berlin the surprise winners in their clash with Carnarvon.

Canberra didn't have what it takes to upset Adelaide in today's clash at Bruce Stadium, the Chargers finally bowing out of the Bob Fulton Cup after a 24-12 loss to a pumped up Adelaide side. The Chargers have the honour of being the longest surviving Division Two side, but were ultimately undone by a sterling game from Gary Coleman.
Canberra: Ben Hornby and Christophe Lamaisson. Towers 2/2
Adelaide: Stirling Mortlock, Red Apokalips, Harry Prince, and Matt Giteau. Apokalips 4/5
HT Score: Adelaide 20-6
PoM Points: Gary Coleman 3, Harry Prince 2, and Courtney Brideson 1.

Berlin continue to defy their critics and stun the league world, the Warlords progressing to the semi finals after a breath-taking 22-20 victory over the Carnarvon Grizzlies. When Carnarvon lead 14-6 at halftime, it looked as if the recently relegated Grizzlies would be a shoe in for a finals' game, but it turned on its head when the Warlords' 'unknowns' stunned the Grizzlies with a powerful second half fightback.
Carnarvon: Jamaal Lolesi, Mitchell Sargent, and Graham Luana. Luana 4/4
Berlin: Trent Leis, Sammy El Hajij 2, and Nick Hardcastle. El Hajij 3/4
HT Score: Carnarvon 14-6
PoM Points: Lee Ralleigh 3, Justin Holbrook 2, and Sammy El Hajij 1.

Wollongong have given Gold Coast a scare in their clash today, but were ultimately outclassed, the Crusade able to run away with the game in the second half after a nail-biting first stanza. The Crusade now line up against Adelaide in an all Premier League semi final next week.
Gold Coast: Karl Pratt, Steve Simpson, Matt Orford, Shaun Briscoe, and Andy Farrell. Farrell 7/7
Wollongong: Danny Ward, Tim Clark, Lance Thompson, and Chris Whittaker. Goddard 1/4
HT Score: Gold Coast 14-12
PoM Points: Matt Orford 3, Karl Pratt 2, and Andy Farrell 1.

Perth's dream run in this year's Bob Fulton Cup was brought to a halt today by the tournament's most in form side, the Sydney Oilers defending grimly to score an 18-16 victory and an 'easy' final against the Berlin Warlords. The Oilers scored four tries to one, with the sole Perth try coming too late to effect the Oilers' lead.
Perth: Torsten Fiedler. Wilkinson 1/1
Sydney: Daniel Fitzhenry, Willie Tonga, Gavin Lester, and John Skandalis. Gower 1/4
HT Score: Sydney 14-0
PoM Points: Andrew Ryan 3, Gavin Lester 2, and Willie Tonga 1.
