Immunity Challenge
Who will in Premier League this season? Why?
Who will win Division Two this season? Why?
REMEMBER: You can win immunity even if you're eliminated, and then give it to whomever you feel like giving it to
(....heard muttering to self, "One bloody vote - %^$&% ^$%#*&^($ *#^# #!^%$#*!!! And damned Canberra - I sure hope those %&*@#%@ Chargers are in our division....")
Right - now that I've had a bit of a blow, let's see if I can type straight...
Premiership: Based on current form, and their having Jonny Wilkinson, I have to like Perth Taipans to make up one half of the Grand Final, as well as taking the Minor Premiership - their demolishing of Capetown yesterday, by a line of 42-10 at Newlands, is a signal to the rest of the Premiership that they'd better have plenty of antivenin handy...
...as for their other Grand Final opponent - look for Gold Coast Crusade and Central Coast Falcons to fight for this spot - Crusade winning big yesterday against Northern Cannons impressing to me, but just a tad less so than Taipans imo. As for Falcons, Magro is angry about losing in the last round of the BFC against what he called "those *&^*^# Wagga#(*^(*#^ #%^*@%*# Badgers!!!" - and I expect that anger will carry this top side into this game...
...but alas, one step short of the Grand Final, as Crusade will play Taipans - and ultimately lose to them in the last, by no more than four points...
Division Two - Two sub-divisions in D2, presumably with a different playoff structure that I cannot yet find posted anywhere, and most of the sides relatively even, I have to say that Blind Peter could make a better guess right now - I reserve the right to change my answer if the sub-divisions' rosters/playoff structures are finalised before time is called here...
...but (and Magro is going to hate me for this, but too bad, as this is my immunity challenge essay - he can roll his own if he does not like mine :D), I can't think of a better Grand Final than a rematch of the third round Bob Fulton Cup tie between Canberra Chargers and Wagga Badgers, with both having won their respective sub-divisions in Division Two. Canberra has played quite well so far, wanting to bounce up to the Premiership, narrowly missing against Perth in a two game series last season; Wagga has determined to erase the memories of their wooden spoon campaign from last year, and has shocked Premiership stalwart Central Coast Falcons along the way.
Yesterday, the scoreline read 12-0, Chargers. The Grand Final will read, after extra time, 22-18, Chargers...
...and both Chargers and Badgers will be pleased as punch ;)
Premier league winners this year i think could just well be the Sydney Oilers....why you might ask? well i know Roger has always had good sides that have performed badly, but this year he has done something different, fearing the possibilitys of relegation he began to trade off extra baggage that his side just did not need....it was the perfect situation for him, leaving himself with only the cream of the crop and a lot of cap space to play around with and picking up some excellent buys....the result is an awesome pack a great halves pairing and a slick backline, he also has a bench that would start in most sides....i think the Oilers will be the side to beat....
Division one winners this year certainly not the dolphins, i think possibly Canberra again will have the goods to go well this year, after a very well hard fought finals series last year, their players have gained experience that will make them even stronger this year...their team is largely unchanged and that stability will undoubtadly keep them in good stead for their promotion dreams....the Chargers the team to beat here.....
Immunity goes to Cake or Death, who can give it to whomever he wishes. Unless it goes to eastspumas, then Vahe makes his exit this week.
