An easy one this week. Tell me, in as many words as it takes, why you love the Newcastle Knights. :D

cause they have george carmont and they beat parramatta in 2001.

I took out the part at the start, where he said he hated them because they keep beating NZ.

As a Novacastrian the Newcastle Knights is more than just a football team. They are a way of life, when the team goes good the whole of Newcastle goes a buzz with life. I mean after the Earthquake in 89 the town was rarely unified until 97 when the kid from scone gave Newcastle something to cheer for. Why do I love the Newcastle Knights, because of their passion their willingness to do their best no matter what it takes, all for the people of Newcastle. And I still get goosebumps and a tear in my eye everytime I see that try with six seconds to go in 97'.

I love the knights because it cheers me up to see them start off so happy each season and then Andrew Johns gets decapitated or something and it cheers me up. I love you knights for making me cheery that one time a year!

More importantly than that they are better than the NZ'ders. I have a genuine reason to like the Knights,

It's kind of hard to describe what the Knights mean to me, I mean when I watch the Knights come on the field, I get a sharp tingling sensation that runs down my entire back... which causes me to jump and cheer.
If I was cut, I'd bleed Blue and White but something must be happening with a cross over in blue... cause it's adding Red into the mixture.... So either my favourite sides are the Bulldogs and the Knights, or I'm a closet Rooster fan :s!
The best thing that comes from the Knights is the amazing set of players on the park, not just in playing ability but also personality. It was back in 2001 when I first encountered Robbie O'Davis. I was just in Charlestown Square Newsagent buying the latest RLW magazine when I looked up from the counter and it was Robbie O'Davis standing next to me in line. At that stage I was in the "I'm a Bulldogs fan, I don't like anyone else" stage but I chatted with him for sometime. When I came out I was red in the face, full of excitment...
Since then I've met plenty of other Knights players like Daniel Abraham and Kurt Gidley who took the time out to talk for as long as I wanted despite me wearing my "Who Let The Dogs Out" shirt, Robbie O'Davis in his final game at Newcastle and as well as seen plenty of Knights events in my time at Newcastle.
I may not be 100% Newcastle supporter but they've got my support 24rds of the season. We all know the heavy injury tole they took this season and lets hope they bounce back with a stellar 2005 season!

Hmmm Wow Magro you can really kiss ass good. Seeing as you wrote an essay for that one let me write a little more about my affair with the knights.
I can't say that when I see the Knights run on the field that I go all guey, but when I'm at a game I tend to get overwhelmed with the crowd and start to cheer. Watching the knights live is an awesome experience to live through, they are some of the most diehard fans ever and will always let the ref know when they think he is doing a terrible job. I remember when I was about 17 I went to watch a Penrith Vs Newcastle game at the then Marathon Stadium, I was cheering for my beloved Panthers on the Knights hill. In that game I coped insults and had bottles flung towards my direction.
I have had a bundle of experiences with the knights boys from my mates training with them to meeting the first graders on random experiences, there are two that I remember fondly, when I was about 5 years old Marc Glanville came to my primary school to promote the game and we talked to him for ages and had photos taken with him that was a special memory for me because the knights were only just a new venture and it was the first time I could connect those people on TV with real life. The next came last year when I walked into my news agent to buy a paper, shortly after I entered a gant of a man came in, Matt Parsons, knowing how much a fan Chris was I asked him if he could sign an autograph for me, he took the time out to sign the autograph even though he was not obligated.
The players determination to their fans is probably higher than most of the other clubs, which is an admirable trait. It's this spirit and commitment that has seen them win those grand finals when nobody else thought they could, their dedication to their fans. I can't say that I support them 24 rounds of the year, but I love everything that surrounds their way of life 25 rounds of the year.
The knights are here to stay and they will continue to rumble the NRL for a long time to come. Newcastle ohhhhhhhhhhhh Newcastle ohhhhhhhhhhh Newcastle Newcastle Newcastle Newcastle.
