Round 6 is upon us and this week sees the Cowboys put their undefeated status on the line against the Broncos and the Tigers will be tring to keep the Bears winless.
A tough encounter has seen the Canterbury Bulldogs outlast the New Zealand Warriors 12-0 in an old fashion bash-a-thon. The bulldogs with the home crowd behind them were just a bit to classy for the Warriors, with Utai and Sherwin causing plenty of problems for the defense. It wasn’t all good news for the Dogs, with Jamaal Lolesi set to miss a number of weeks on the sideline.
Canterbury: Adam Perry, Brent Sherwin. El Masri 2/2.
New Zealand:.
PoM: Matt Utai 3, Brent Sherwin 2, Adam Perry 1.
The Canberra Raiders have shown all their attacking might with a 42-12, humbling of the Cronulla Sharks. In a huge lift to a struggling Storm outfit, inspirational fullback Billy Slater, with the help of numerous pain killers to over come a broken arm, has helped the Storm to a 26-16 win over a committed bunnies outfit. While Slater’s inclusion was a surprise to everyone, Matt Orford controlled the game to a tee and picked up the man of the match award.

Newcastle’s woeful form continued today as they were soundly beaten by the Roosters 22-6. Newcastle: Robbie O’Davis. Johns 1/1.
PoM: Justin Hodges 3, Ryan Cross 2, Anthony Toopu 1.
After a stirring pre-game speech by life long Bears fan and coach David McElroy, things looked on the up for the Central Coast outfit going into the break at a 12 all deadlock. However, McElroys halftime decision to go and find some hot dogs at halftime instead of tending to his team cost the Bears dearly in the second half. The Tigers finished the game strongly to come out 21-12 victors.

Wests: Brett Hodgson, Shane Elford, Scott Prince, Ben Galea. Covell 2/6. Prince 1 fg.

Rugby league bad boy John Hopoate has played a leading hand in a famous away victory for the Manly Sea Eagles. Manly’s backline was near unstoppable as the Eels continue to run around like chooks with their head cut off. The only blemish on the day for Manly was Walkers pathetic form with the boot.

Manly: John Hopoate 2, Paul Stephenson, Andrew Walker, Chad Randall. Walker 3/8.
