Title: Most hated actors

oiler - August 10, 2004 02:49 PM (GMT)
1. Hugh Grant : Anybody who picks up a whore over Elizabeth Hurley is a fool.
2. Fran Drescher : Mr Sheiffieeeeelld.
3. Nicole Kidman : I wish Tom Cruise never found her.
4. Julia Roberts : Her brother, Eric has more talent in his finger than Julia has in her whole body.
5. Colin Farrell : "Phonebooth" is the only good movie he has ever appeared in. Even then, he irritated me.
6. Macaulkey Culkin : The most expressionless actor ever to appear on screen. Makes Steven Seagal look like he has life in him.
7. Tom Green : I just don't get how this guy has appeal.
8. Adam Sandler : I can only take this guy in VERY small doses.
9. Woody Allen : Why is this guy famous?
10. Vin Diesel : ANYBODY who has EVER liked "Fast and the Furious" is a total moron. There is no exception to the rule. The sad thing is, Diesel was'nt the worst aspect of the movie :ouch:

Nicolas Cage for me ... everything he has been in has been either a. good, apart from him (ie Con Air) or b. shit. Half the time I can't understand a word he is saying.

I also wanted to punch anyone playing a Hobbit in the Lord of the Rings films - I loved the book The Hobbit, but am one of the few people seemingly not to like the films.

As for Woody Allen, I don't think he is a good actor, but as a writer I think he is one of the best.

(I know bagging Nic Cage and Lord of the Rings will upset some of the younger coaches, who probably think 'Gone in 60 Seconds' was a classic, but sorry ... :D )

You haven't even seen the Lord of the Rings films, Roger. It seems a little odd that you could agree on that, when you've yet to see them.

As for Lord of the Rings, I think I'm one of the few people who doesn't enjoy the novels. The Hobbit was fine, but the trilogy is long-winded, incredibly boring in portions, and nowhere near the 'quality' of modern fantasy. That said, it did pioneer the genre, and so is due credit for that.

That genuinely doesn't surprise me one bit.

I have never managed to get through the Lord of the Rings books ... as I say I loved The Hobbit, but I struggled with LOTR and eventually gave up.

It was recently voted one of the best books of all time, but I seriously doubt that more than 25% of the people voting had actually read it, but just watched the films.

My main gripe with the films is that in a sense its a simple good vs evil plot, yet I found the actors, or the characters themselves (not sure which) playing the Hobbits that bloody annoying that after about 10 minutes I wanted them to get caught!

And as for that stupid little bastard Gollum or whatever he was called ...

Nich Cage is good.
The only films that has been mentioned in this thread is Gone in 60 seconds and Con Air.
Can I point out these are other great films he is in.
Face/Off
Snake Eyes
8mm
Windtalkers
The Rock
They are all good movies I think.

Adaptation
Matchstick Men
Leaving Las Vegas
Raising Arizona

Not to mention he is Francis Ford Coppola's nephew

Face/Off fits into category a) above - ie good, apart from him, as does The Rock ... but to be fair I did like 8mm and thought he was good in it.

The rest of the films mentioned - especially Leaving Las Vegas - I thought were a pile of crap. And who cares if he is Francis Ford Coppola's nephew?!

But as with all these postings, its just a personal opinion.
