Title: What Noad said

MrCharisma - July 21, 2004 04:13 AM (GMT)
Not sure if you know or care, but I met Bulldogs CEO Malcom Noad at the Cronulla game last weekend and found out some things about the Bulldogs and their future;

* We aren't going back to Belmore (already stated in previous thread)
* Noad is being sly about Fielden (all he said was he was on contract still with a cheeky grin)
* Us lossing Thurston to Noad meant nothing other then more money for us to offer Pricey
* We are looking at getting a young Panther forward (No names were said)
* We are hoping to extend Mason's contract soon
* We could see more young forwards brought up next season
* We are trying very hard to retain Anasta for the upcoming seasons
* El Masri is very happy with his contract, but his manager has put a few things extra into it so they are working that out now.

I also met Nigel Vagana, Sonny-Bill Williams, Ben Harris and Daniel Conn. Saw Thurston beng dropped off by his Mum and Cameron Phelps driving in.

WhatMalcom Noad Really Said

* We aren't going back to Belmore cuz all our weapons of mass destruction are hidden there, plus the chick from coffs harbour and the salary cap
* Noad is being sly about Fielden, because he knows it will take plenty of sex to get him over
* Us lossing Thurston to Noad meant nothing other then spreading rape across the nrl
* We are looking at getting a young Panther forward cause ours suck
* We are hoping to extend Mason's rehab program because he is still a fucktard
* We could see more young forwards brought up into martyrs next season
* We are trying very hard to retain Anasta for gangbang purposes
* El Masri is very happy with his contract, but his manager has put a few things extra into it like free the boat people or i wont play

I still love you tho Magro :D

MrCharisma - July 22, 2004 12:46 AM (GMT)
Marshal, you are truely a moron.

It's great being at the top of the ladder. What a feeling it really is to look down at all the other supporters. Why am I saying this? I just thought I'd just refresh your memory on what it feels like for your side to win once in a while.

chriswalkerbush - July 22, 2004 02:50 AM (GMT)
Aren't the Rorters top of the ladder? F/A makes all the difference when they hand out a minor premiership at season's end.

When was the last time Parra got the spoon, anyway?

MrCharisma - July 22, 2004 05:04 AM (GMT)
*with a smug look on his face*

When was the last time Newcastle or Parramatta win something??? :stooge:

2001 premiership springs to mind.

Of course, if you count the wooden spoon as 'winning', than you've got both of us beat for recent achievements.

Chris Columbo - July 22, 2004 07:41 AM (GMT)
It is a wooden spoon im proud of. What other team in history has got the wooden spoon when winning more games through the season than the eventual premiers and minor premiers(who ill mention were also guilty of cheating the cap with Wing and for Chris's sake the Knights were also over it with Kennedy). The Dogs team of that year would easily have taken out the premiership as they had it over every team that they played. If you want to remind us what a great season we had when by default we were screwed of a premiership only to find the premiers also were in that position then give me shit about it. My conscience about that is sparkling clean. By default we were the best that year and were punished while four teams who competed in the finals got away scot free. It hurt then but now ill wear the punishment with pride knowing the NRL were the Hypocrits in this case.

When the Eels or the Knights are equal top well hear your arguments about the Roosters then. For now ill sit back and get photos while my club is thriving can i get a smile out of you guys :kodak:

There is a huge difference between the $1.25 million breach the Dogs had, and the $100,000 or so that Sydney allegedly breached it by. Newcastle, firstly, were never fined or warned for a crap breach- and when they were under investigation, it was with regard to Matt Parsons (not BK) receiving a free car from one of the Knights' major sponsors.

Brisbane were in breach by about $25,000, and I'm not sure who your mysterious fourth side is. Regardless, even if you added all four 'alleged' breaches together- it doesn't amount to half of the Bullwogs' breach. The only hypocrits are 'Dogs fans who claim they were 'robbed', as if they hadn't breached the cap in the first place.

Chris Columbo - July 23, 2004 02:06 AM (GMT)
I am not claiming that the board were squeaky clean in the matter at all. I just find it rankles that the Roosters were found to be 200,000 in breach in 1 season from memory. The Roosters were let go with it virtually no media attention was given. At least the NRL could have taken points as punishment for the next season. But what did they do? a cash fine to one of the more affluent clubs in the game. I do hate the board who were responsible for the breach at the dogs and accept that we were at fault. But that doesnt change the fact that the Roosters also rorted in a similar style (third party payment that didnt go on the books it would have been the same with the car given to Parsons). As far as feeling robbed, wouldnt you feel robbed if newscastle were taken out of contention for the premiership after theyd played their best season in about 5 years and had cut down all contenders. Anyway i can argue till im blue in the face over this and though i can see your point you wont be able to imagine the dissapointment i felt when they announced the punishment. One last thought though technically we were the wooden spoon but after we won more games than any other team in the comp that year ill take that wooden spoon and put it on my mantlepeice with the same pride as if it were the minor premiership. Feel free to continue criticising, ill continue to feel robbed its just my opinion.

chriswalkerbush - July 23, 2004 03:12 AM (GMT)
I can imagine your dissapointment, but if Newcastle breached the cap by $1.2 million I'd also understand why it had to happen. You say Canterbury played the best season in a long time- but they did it with one third more money in player payments than anyone else. Of course they were going to fire. For that cash they could have pay-rolled Andrew Johns and Darren Lockyer with cash to spare.

As I've already said, Parsons' car wasn't included as a third party payment because it was nothing to do with the Knights. He didn't keep the car, and he never owned it. He had it on loan, from the owner of the company (who owned the car as a personal vehicle) for a month while Parsons' was out of action. Just like when BK's car broke down and he borrowed Hughesy's bike.

Same was said about Parra in 2001 no one was going to beat us and then Newy got us in the grand final, so whos to say you would of won at all! just goes to show u that a season of dominance doesnt get u a premiership all the time

PJ_Marshal - July 25, 2004 05:43 AM (GMT)
Hey Man we won the 7's in 2003 that counts as a legit trophy :D
