Actually, South Africa are free due to Steve Simmons' resignation. However, I'll be giving more qualified coaches first dibs. You can have whoever they vacate to take the reins at the mighty Rhinos

Hey Doug,
Lol Chris and I actually had you in mind for the coaching roll in the New Zealand State of Origin.
Unfortunatly seem I proposed the idea to Chris I got to choose which one I wanted and I straight up took north. South is still available if you are still interested in coaching the side.
You can contact me on MSN Messanger if you want on: league_of_my_own@hotmail.com and I can give you the available players for souths there are some huge names.
I wont say in here how the two sides were worked out but I had to find a new technique to make the two sides more balanced otherwise Norths would of ended up having like 48 players and souths only 18 the way i worked it out tho leaves Norths with 25 players and Souths with 35 (so really if u took up souths u would get a slight advantage by having more players to select) I will tell you if you contact me how i worked it out but just keep in mind it was worked out this way to try and balance it out abit.
Some big names that Norths have got: Carlos Spencer, Stacey Jones some big names that Souths have got: Henry Paul, Christian Cullen, Awen Guttenbeil, Francis Meli, Joe Rococoko, Justin Marshall, Andrew Mehrtans, Stephen Kearney.
But will go into more details with you when you contact me and let us know if you want to be Souths Coach.
I thought this was a good idea :D

all sounds a bit dodgy to me, i mean they are either from the north, or from the south, i dont see chris and co swapping players to suit needs in state of origin, i mean QLD could always do with a few more quality players, but they cant just use unamed NSW players to make up their team :drunk: :stooge:
Andrew - July 8, 2004 07:51 AM (GMT)
agreed. cant be called a state of origin otherwise :o
chriswalkerbush - July 8, 2004 10:25 AM (GMT)
Aren't Tonie Carroll and Karmichael Hunt technically Kiwis.....?
I think Queensland have been taking players from elsewhere to fill the ranks for ages.
trognierrrr - July 8, 2004 11:50 AM (GMT)
yeah, still hasnt helped them though :kicking:
pennywisealfie - July 8, 2004 03:10 PM (GMT)
karmichael is as queensland as mason is new south wales. they were both born in new zealand but played all there footy in australia. same as carroll
blackhawks - July 8, 2004 10:52 PM (GMT)
Actually Karmichael Hunt until 3 years ago was playing league in auckland. Which classes him as a Kiwi... Tonie Carroll played 4 seasons of league in the south until he moved to Australia and Willie Mason who would want him anyway...
Technically if we wanted to be all official about this I could add Karmichael Hunt, Tonie Carroll and Willie Mason to this state of origin team lists but we havent cause i respect the players and all the other coaches would have a huge cry if we did...
Here have a cry... Nah go on have a cry! Here is a tissue for you :stooge:

if we remove the island from the south and north that would be more ideal as some sport does that in new zealandfor their game (can't bloody remember which one)
half the population of nz live north of taranaki and hawkes bay. so that could be a cut off for north and south.
trognierrrr - July 9, 2004 12:34 AM (GMT)
What about New Zealands 3rd population, i think some people call it Bondi, i also heard the dole pays more in Australia, coincedence, u tell me  :ouch:
