Eight has become four as the race for the BFC title hots up once again. The round saw five Premier League sides, one Division Two, and a surprisingy count of two Rising Star Conference sides taking to the field. The fact Sunshine Coast and The Entrance played one another ensured one would appear in the semi finals as well.
The Gold Coast Crusade have shown plenty of character in today's clash with Carnarvon. Down 18-6 at halftime, the Crusade rushed back to take a 26-18 lead heading into the final ten minutes of play. A try to Scott Hill had the game on a knife edge, but a late Chris Latham try and Andrew Johns penalty goal sent the Crusade charging ahead for a semi final berth on the back of a 32-22 win.

A dominant opening twenty has sent Darwin through to their first ever Bob Fulton Cup semi final appearance, three tries and a penalty goal enough to give the Cyclones a match-winning 20-0 halftime lead. Whilst the last sixty minutes of the clash were dour at best, Penrith managed to score a consolation try to leave the final score at 20-6.

In another scrappy clash, the Sydney Oilers have gotten home on the back of their defence, holding out Melbourne to secure a 13-4 win and a semi final berth against the in form Gold Coast Crusade. Melbourne fans will be heartened by the form of new recruit, Craig Smith, however- who has amassed seven Dally M points already this season.

Following in big brother's footsteps, the Sunshine Coast Wizards have stormed home from a 14-6 halftime defecit to record a memorable 24-14 win and set up a semi final against the Darwin cyclones. New recruit Trent Clayton starred in the win, tearing up the Tigers' backline.
