Fans were treated to two very different clashes in the RSC semi finals as Northern Territory fought out a thriller with The Flintlocks, and Wests clashed with The Entrance Tigers.
The first semi final, played before Central's upset 32-16 win over Wellington, saw the Northern Territory Lions record another upset win over the fourth placed Flintlocks outfit. Fans enjoyed a real too and fro battle between the two classy sides, but an extra try to the Lions was enough to see them through to face Sunshine Coast with a 20-18 win.
Northern Territory: Beau Rivers, Nathan Tolley, and Lee Jackson. Mom 4/5
The Flintlocks: Tabua Cakacaka and Brian O'Farrell. Byrne 2/2. Ahmed 2/3
PoM Points: David Howell 3, Beau Rivers 2, and Dean Byrne 1.
Fans at The Birdcage on the Central Coast were treated to two dominant victories in their minor semi final clashes. Whilst Central Coast would later account for Manly 30-6, the Tigers were too good for Wests in a one sided 26-8 win over the sixth placed side. The Entrance were ably lead by unknown Adam Brideson, whose hat-trick played a huge part in The Entrance's move to face Birchgrove next weekend.
Wests: Aaron Gorrell. Bates 2/2
The Entrance: Adam Brideson 3, Dayne Neirinckx, and James Little. Tabuli 3/5
PoM Points: Adam Brideson 3, Paul Dezolt 2, and Jason Bell 1.
Good work lads... I was quick to judge Brideson, calling him an idiot for lossing us a game a couple of weeks back but his performances shows he will be in the run on for next season.
Without El Masri, Birchgrove will be difficult with Trent Pariah. By the looks of it, it could be a Northern Territory vs. The Entrance Grand Final.
You're quick to write off the minor premiers...
