Coffs Harbour wyrms coach Mr. Mackdadday has been forced to admit that he and his boys will be anxiously cheering on the Irish and Papau New Guinea teams as the world cup draws closer to its dramatic climax. Though you'll find alot of green and gold flags flying all over Coffs harbour this week, the local team has a number of reasons to wave a different coloured flag or two. After all, the wyrms have a number of their boys in a number of surviving teams. Wyrms captain Kevin Campion and Steve Prescott for Ireland, and David Raelke, John Rovoa and Raymond Karl at PNG.
Though the Irish have confirmed a finals berth, the PNG squad depend on a Cook Islands upset over South Africa to continue on towards the most coveted title in rugby league today. In an effort to reel in a few extra fans for the coming season, star wyrms players Matt Giteau, Syrian Kor and Ben Darwin have made a number of promises based on either team winning any coming match. Based out of the teams local drinking hole, the Greenhouse tavern, each game will involve a special wager. A PNG win this week will see Matt giteau get a Brazillian from local entertainer Carlitta. An Irleand victory in the first final will mean that Darwin and Kor will have to letter their fiances wrestle each other in a pool of ice cream with one lucky local allowed to referee up close and personal. Suggestions for further stipulations can be placed at the tavern.
Ireland will be playing either New Zeland, England or Fiji based on the results of fiji and the United States(with local boys Bill Rhyven and David Niu) later in the week. The Coffs harbour Wyrms invite all the locals to come and enjoy a great night with the team and their promises to be lots of giveaways and plenty of laughs.
