Title: What Kind of Kit do you use?
zakkrhoads - June 20, 2004 08:49 PM (GMT)
I have the regular pearl export series kit that i've seen tons of people using, i use all remo emporer coated heads on top of my toms and clear remo emporers on bottom. i use Aquarian Superkick II's on my kick and my snare is a Ian Paice signature with a Emporer X snare head (<--fucking owns). I really really want to get another floor tom but not sure if its worth it, anyone out there use two floor toms and recommend a deeper one? I saw some Maiden stuff were Nicko sounded fine with a 3 piece compared to past records with his monster kits! But I still want me a new drum :bang:

I have a Premier Royale - old old kit now. i use evans rock skins on my toms but a remo emporer on the floor tom. the evans skins are more expensive but well worth it. they sound really good on any toms but the ones i have are gold which is kinda bad looking. all toms have remo white bottom skins. I use tama stands i think they were A2 or something like that. i use an old premier snare which i bought seperate from my kit. it uses two metal braces instead of one. i had to order the braces the other week and they take forever to arrive but those double 10s are only made by premier who are notorious for poor distribution. snare has remo weather king skins on it. I use a 18" zildjian avatar ride/crash and a 14" zildjian z.b.t. crash as well as my 20" zildjian scimitar ride. i also have a spare zildjian ride but i dont know what ttype it is. my 14" zildjian scimitar high-hats are on a premier stand but i usually use tama stands - they are well made and easy to use compared to premier stands. i use a single premier bass drum pedal too but again i am not certain which model it is. i sometimes use 3 toms and a floor tom on another kit i play on. in my opinion the extra tom for drum - rolls is far more effective than a 2nd floor tom.

I use a Sunlite kit, I know it's an offbrand but it works, with aquarian heads and cheap sabian cymbals. I think they are the B8's but I'm not too sure.

i used a kit with sabian once - those cymbals were the next best thing i have heard to zildjians.
