Title: --==*MASTER OF PUPPETS COVER*==-
Description: By Sad But True

OK, you guys know the credits for this one, since the SBT lineup hasn't changed. And it's all listed on the download page for the song if you're interested in knowing what instruments we used.
I think we've finally managed to do justice to the original. Our original MoP was our very first cover. The playing was great, but the sound sucked. With this, we hope to have rectified the situation and offer it as a gift for having split your eardrums with the fucked-up sound of our last version.
It's still my vocals, so don't expect anything spectacular in that department. But it is an improvement over the original. Having a real bass here gives the song a whole new dimension as well.
Anyway. Here it is. It's been 6 weeks since we've anounced it, so we've made you wait long enough. Enjoy.

So enjoy. Post your comments and let us know what you think about our latest effort.

Wow, great job done, i like the sound and the playing alot!
Very fast, i couldnt handle that.... :D and faster then metallica... but the sound is a little thinner then the original, i think the stacked some more tracks on the rythm guitars.
I like the clean part alot, espacilly the lead sound, its very good!
:) A great job done there, will you make sometime a own song?

It's a Boogie V-Twin preamp which I'm running direct into the power amp on my PEavey Bandit, bypassing the Peavey preamp altogether. It does have a real chunky rectifier tone though. Man, I love that preamp. It's got SO much ass-kicking sonic goodness in that little armored box...

Its really kick ass Crunch, the drum sound is kick ass on it, very tightly put together overall, you seem to improve vocally too :bigok:

Dave - April 10, 2004 10:28 PM (GMT)
You should seriously think of putting some of your own songs on the site cause i think it would be really interesting to see the stuff you guys write considering you have the covers down so well

We have in mind to cover at least two songs from every Metallica studio album (excepting Garage, Inc). Once that's done, we plan to work on some original songs, with the occasional Metallica/other band cover thrown in.

Vocals sounded a bit forced in my opinion but otherwise pretty good. Those "extra drum things" (that i cant describe in english) sounded sweet!

I'd love to heard some of your own songs, your Metallica songs are spot-on so some heavy metal written by you could be awesome...... i have to ask though, why will you not be doing anything from Garage Inc.?

We are technically a Metallica cover band, thus our covers will reflect that (the only exception being our cover of "Am I Evil", originally recorded by Diamond Head). That's not to say, though, that we won't cover music from other bands. Just that at this point in time, we will focus our music purely on covering original Metallica recordings.

I think you mean the "drum fills" :) Thanks very much. The drums are my department.

Actually, I used no effects other than a light delay added to the aux bus on the recorded tracks after the fact. I used my Lado Earth 2003 with dual EMG 81 using the neck pickup.
Just wondering why the hell this was moved into the tech talk section??? WTF? This is music, not tech shit.
Machinax - April 21, 2004 03:45 PM (GMT)
I know; we're an "other band", we should be in the "other bands" section.
