Title: My tributes to MetallicA
Description: by DronZKila

Hello there !

what about some Seek and Destroy :metal2: ?

for a beginner like me it's faking hard to play in stand up position, thus some mistakes at the intro section.

about 7 min.

Well done dude. I remember learning that one when I was about 17 (15 years ago). I see you have a few others movies up to.

Thanks ;)
Yep. I am 32 and I picked up a guitar for the first time at 31... :D

eggman75 - March 11, 2008 11:36 AM (GMT)
Well that makes it even better then you have picked it up after only a year playing. Awesome. Good to see fellow old dudes rocking out. Keep up the good work.

DronZKila - March 11, 2008 02:28 PM (GMT)
the most funny thing about that is that the old dude like me want to start a tribute to Metallica band or at least start to play with a bass player or a drummer. it's cool to play alone in a kitchen but you're always looking for some progress which can be acheaved only if you play with other musicians. IMHO

i am living next to Paris, France so if someone is interested -> PM :)

it's cool when you write your own material instead of playing cover tunes. I always wanted to start a metallica tribute band, but then I realized I would rather start a band and become the next metallica(trivium beat me to that and then bullet has second place, and using them as examples I was wayyy offf)or just becoming better than metallica... it's funny I always had a drive to be better than metallica... not anything negative, just because they were my favorite band and I wanted to be better than them... kind of like a son wanting to be better than his dad... only now it isnt that hard to be better than metallica...

after you get a feel of the guitar and start progressing... learn some new genres if you are up for a challenge... if you really want to progress at guitar learn some necrophagist or something extremely hard... I see videos of kids that have been playing for a year that have surpassed my skill level because they started off learning the right genre of music whilel I started with punk and other other music... I wish I could go back in time and change the way i apporached guitar... I wish I spent more time practicing and less time learning songs... I also wish I had listened to more diverse genres... these kids are lucky today, music is so technical so theyhave extrmemly talented guitarist to look up to... even the shitty bands have talented guitarists

janez79 - March 11, 2008 06:43 PM (GMT)
nice cover! great job!

of wolf and tallica - March 11, 2008 07:06 PM (GMT)
Well I'm 31 now and been wanting to pick up my guitar and learn for a while. Maybe this is a sign to start. :D I have about 5 guitars, you would think I'd be able to play at least one of them! Very good job man!!!

I can't consider myself as a musician since i don't read music. I don't really have time and most of all I don't have a will to really start learning music (notes, solfeggio and s.o.) it will piss me off, I know that.

That's why my aim isd not so great as your. I just want to spend good time by playing some tunes of my favorite bands...I don't know how old are you. If you are young start a band and do as James and Lars. Me I'm too old and lazy for this shit :D

I agreed with that. I want to progress for sure. There is not only Metallica and metal in our lives. I also like Spanish accoustic guitar. Let's see, when I will be 40 I will may be do that kind of style too. who knows...

2 janez79 & 2 of wolf and tallica : thank you very much

2 of wolf and tallica - wow you collect guitars and you don't play at all ! i can't beleive that ! you should start !! why not trying ?

I got all these guitars and never had the time. With kids and a family, it seems like my attention is always needed somewhere else. I'm going to have to find the time though. I'll have to get a picture up of all of my end tables, I mean guitars. :D

I dont read sheet music... I read guitar tablature... took me a couple days to grasp the concept... now i can sight read that shit hahahaha and yea... Im 21 lol... im starting a band after I graduate

Themonsterlives - March 13, 2008 03:53 PM (GMT)
Jimi Hendrix couldn't read music....most of us can't. Like ralph said we write and learn how to read Tab. Makes life easier and is much easier to write out parts like that then going through and doing sheet music.

DronZKila - March 16, 2008 05:55 AM (GMT)
I read tabs as well of course but there is a lot of mistakes even in official tablatures. for instance in MOP and Justice tabs there's enermous mistakes. Only the classical notes are right.
lookralphsbak said 'it's cool when you write your own material'. i agree but still you need to have a musician part inside you. i'm trying to find one in me

Here is another one - Welcome Home

the volume of the clean channel is low - be prepared when I will hit the distortion for the 1st solo :P

the last solo sucks at the end, i know.

how about the rest ?

of wolf and tallica - April 10, 2008 02:15 AM (GMT)
I thought the rhythm parts were real solid. The solos weren't that bad either.

DronZKila - April 15, 2008 10:13 AM (GMT)
Thanks of wolf :)

check this out

For Whom The Bell Tolls with my band

The 2nd guitarist was missing this day.

It's a 2nd rehearsal only (for this song) so there is a shitty start but the rest sounds OK

We started on April 1st only and this is our 3rd rehearsal. Other videos to come out if you want.

dude... your tone for the lead is really terrible... turn the low up or the highs down.. that is extremely air piercing

DronZKila - May 2, 2008 11:00 PM (GMT)
This is a rehearsal of my band. BTW we still don't have a name :D
don't pay attention to the vocals. we are still looking for a right singer :D

Well like you said, vocals aside, the guitars and bass sound pretty damn good. Hate to say it but the drummer's timing is off pretty bad. Other than that the music was killer!

thank you of wolf and tallica
the drummer is a beginner on the drums. he plays guitar for 12 years now but on the drums only 1,2 year and this band is his first experience for this instrument. but he seems to progress from one rehearsal to another. it's really hard to find a good drummer since the start of a band so i prefer to see his evolution.
