So my alt. picking sucks....way below the rest of my guitar playing...anyone got any ideas for exercises? all i use at the moment is the standard 1-2-3-4 chromatic on each string going up then down, and a 5-6 one as well...but they don't seem to improve it much?

I improved mine with a bit from SKOM: check out SKOM (movie) while Kirk learning a bit from it, it's great for learning

Sweep picking is bastard to learn, i gave up as soon as the guitar pro file got ahead of me.. so on the second note

I love sweep picking...not a master of it tho...

and don't forget there's difference with alterenate and alternative picking..

I guess u mean the alternate picking (^v^v^v)...basically, make a lick like 1-2-3 on the first string, 1-2 on the second string, and go up and down...after that u can make it more difficult...and just repeat it all the time, go from 1st to 22nd fret...also, do it fast the go slow, and otherwise....

lkmao... I can kinda do it but on with chords like the intro to ktulu, the very first chord and not fast
