FucT666 - February 18, 2006 12:11 PM (GMT)

squiers suck... well depends on which one you get, ibanez owns squier... and fuct not every guitar is metal... you can use a fender/squier for metal, you have to hook it up with new pickups and shit... Im not a fan of fender brands cause their more of a rock guitar... Ill stick to ibanez and esp...

Pfft they arent metal at all. Why bother messing around with the pick ups when you can buy a brand new guitar and have it all working perfectly

ritchie blackmore uses a fender... 'nuff said. What janez said is right...you can use a fender for any type of music pretty much.

lookralphsbak - February 18, 2006 08:39 PM (GMT)
jhn 5 uses one for marilyn manson... :ph43r: hes actually a really good guitarist from what i hear though... but his is hooked up, Ive seen some really metal looking fenders...
but fenders arent usually made for metal but they can be used for anything but are usually used for rock blues jazz blah blah... even punk... but yea fenders are expensive as fuck... doesnt kirk use a fender for one? or is that an esp copy

FucT666 - February 18, 2006 08:45 PM (GMT)
Long live Encore Strats \m/

Cheaper versions all the way

But they still arent metal, the only good thing about them is the fact that you should smash them on stage with your band so people think you are cool

junglessence_2005 - February 19, 2006 08:08 AM (GMT)

PlayMetal - February 19, 2006 01:05 PM (GMT)

nope
QUOTE
With Deep Purple and Rainbow, Blackmore almost exclusively played a Fender Stratocaster, often with the middle of its three pickups ripped out or disconnected.

and maciass he might have, but this is fuct...he's hardly into deep purple type music....although it is pretty damn ignorant if you don't know who he is....kinda like saying who the hell's jimmy page....

squier sucks. fender sucks. neither are metal with a few exceptions.

on Metal Hammer festival ,germany ,1985 kirk plays with a strat too(see 4 horsemen song) and it's really METAL!

Drunk Pirate - February 23, 2006 11:15 PM (GMT)
are you sure it wasnt his ESP strat copy like in the one vid?

The Mechanix - February 24, 2006 05:15 AM (GMT)
dude just cause a guitar doesnt look "Metal" doesnt mean that it cant be used for metal, i mean fuck, look at the Les Paul, another un-metal looking guitar, but how many Metal/ Hard Rock giants use them? lets see Zakk Wylde, Papa Het, Jimmy Page, Kirk, Ted Nugent, Randy Rhoads, Matt Heafy, Slash. A lot of Metal guitarists use Strats too, every one from Iron Maiden, Mick Mars for Motley Crue, Judas Priest used to use them up til the late 80's, Fast Eddie Clarke from Motorhead used Strats too (if i remember correctly)

jimmeh - February 28, 2006 07:51 AM (GMT)

Les pauls are metal

and strats still dont look metal, sure they can be used (why anyone would want to is beyond me) but they just look boring, generic, ugly, to me

i know they are metal, but i meant that they dont really look like metal guitars compared to the others that Gibson has out (i.e the flying V, the Explorer and of course the SG)
